Allright, JPM came out with the win in Brazil, do you think that he now has an advantage over Kimi when it comes to next year when they both line up in the Mclaren Cars?
Vote for who you think will have the better results aT Mclaren next year?

KR should have a better result than JPM. I think KR is a more mature driver, especially with him and his team having an aweful season this year. He is also more familiar with how team McLaren works and on his shear driving ability, I feel that he is at least equal if not better than JPM. I am not sure how either one of them is on the tech/setup/development front, so I will just leave that at draw. To be honest here, I would love to see him take over for MS at Ferrari in 2006 when his contract with McLaren ends in 2005. (His contract with McLaren does end in 2005, right?)

Kimi will be the next world champ. after Michael Shumacher. No question about it!! i would rather he wins w/ mercedes, but if he wins it with ferrari i'll still cheer for him.

Hmmm, I am not 100% sure who will be the faster here.

    1. Both Kimi and JPM are fast, you cannot dispute that.
    2. Kimi appears to be the more controlled driver ... JPM suffers from brain fade, emotional dramas, etc.

What I really hope is that McLaren build a great car, 'cause F1 will be exciting again if we have 2 really good teams (the other being Ferrari ofcourse). Currently we have Ferrari and everybody else ...

Thus I can see poles for JPM and race wins for Kimi ...

I voted Kimi, but I don't think it will be near a MS/RB domination teammate pairing.

My only question about Kimi is how he will perform in a less-than-perfect car. We've seen him race hard in a competitive McLaren, and we've seen the other end of the spectrum where the car subjected him to failures of every kind. And the outbursts that resulted haven't been pretty. He's not a raging baby, but he's not exactly the "Iceman" either. If McLaren continue to improve, Kimi will have continuity and establishment on his side. If the car is vulnerable, it will provide the perfect platform for JPM to gain strength within the team.

That is a good point ... but nether of these drivers have got to the point where they know when to go into cruise mode to save a win.

Kimi is flat out all the time and McLaren just need to build a fast, strong car and he will be off ... maybe after a few wins he will slow down when necessary.

I guess you have to give a slight upper hand here to JPM , 'cause he has more REAL racing under his belt ... but that Kimi is fast.

looks like the money is on Kimi (mine too).
But I can't decide if that's 'cause we really think Kimi will do it, or just because we think JPM is the real 'ass'..........

It should be really interesting, kinda like Senna vs Prost all those years ago. While it's true neither is very technical they do provide good feedback from what i understand. Alex Wurz though is said to be very good in that department if he stays as test driver. Montoya is an excellent passer and probably more aggressive than Kimi. It remains to be seen if Kimi can deal with a teamamte that is as fast as he his. As good as coulthard is he wasn't a match for Kimi in terms of raw speed. Montoya may just rattle his cage a little.

With all due respect, I don't know if you can compare them to Senna and Prost yet. Senna and Prost are two drivers on an entirely different plain. JPM and KR still has a long way to go and a lot to prove to be compare the next great duel. The competitive atomsphere between them may have the potential to be Senna-Prost like, but that is about it I think. :)

    Hmmm...
Interested in putting money where your mouth/keyboard is?

I am willing to bet that Kimi Raikonnen will out-qualify and out-race Juan Montoya next year.

JPM will probably end up slamming into Kimi at the start of every race. That will make PSK very happy because it would be, according to PSK, exciting racing.

    Why???

I hope JPM can life his game by having an equally competitive team-mate. I think that there will be quite a few tussles between the two as they are both closely matched in the same car.

But, JPM has high emotion and is passionate about his racing. If Kimi is faster than him, i dont think there would be a worse situation for JPM on a personal level...

I have to agree with tritone in that JPM IS an a##
How many times will he pull a stunt and take KR out.
I think Ron Dennis is going to lose some sleep on sat night at least a few times next season. As for Kimi being the "iceman" I think it still applies in spite of his obvious frustration due to his multitude of engine failures this season. I think the term should (and does) apply to his state of mind when his car and engine are working properly. I believe we will see great drives by him. Lets hope McClaren are up to the task of providing him with a reliable engine/chassis. It,s going to be interesting to say the least!

Neither one of them is very technical. Senna and Prost were both very technical. I think KR is just a tad overrated much like Alonso. Both are very talented and have proven to be magic on a good day but they do have a long way to go. I think JPM is a better racer and can better drive around a bad car. It will be Senna-Prost like in terms of keeping them from fighting amongst themselves. Ron Dennis has his hands full.
