Hey Guys Which would be a better way to jump start a Diablo? 1) Jump start of battery in donor car (with Donor car on/off?) 2) Jump start of new battery (take an extra battery with me, and attach with jump start cables to Diablo) The Diablo CANNOT be 1)trickle charged 2)battery replaced in its current situation... It is parked in a shipping container, and needs to be unloaded...
don't be impatient. push the car out of the shipping container, remove the rear wheel, and replace the battery. if it's dead now, jumping it could cause you more issues. just take the time to do it right.
Thanks Guys... For the replacement battery - does anyone have the recommended size and ratings for the Diablo 6.0? I will not be able to get the US brand names in Dubai, so the size (L W H or size rating) and power rating (CCA,etc) will help me pick the correct battery I need to use.. Thanks
Refer to the Interstate MT-34 specs within the link below Interstate Batteries I just put an optima yellow top in my 99 Diablo SV
I just replaced the battery in my Murci (same as Diablo). Here's some info I found while doing the change. The part numbers should be good for you to cross reference with other model batteries. LamboDIY: Change Battery
I replaced the battery on my Diablo instead of starting it. We rolled it off the truck into the. street in front of my house and I changed the battery in the street. There was no way I was going to have them start a consignment car that I had no clue about the battery life or condition up even once on my watch. So I changed it to an Interstate. On a side note, after every weekly drive I disconnect the electric plug on the firewall behind the drivers seat and plug in my battery tender. Every time.
Glad you got the battery replaced. If I'm not driving for a long period of time, I kill the battery with the switch too. No need for a trickle charger.
The power knob does not kill all power to the car. The alarm, radio memory, clock, and some other items are still receiving power with the knob off or out. I would recommend a battery conditioner as well as using the power knob
I tested the amp draw on the Diablo with the knob in and out some years back. From memory, there is a difference between it being in and out (lower amp draw with it out, of course) but it isn't huge. And when you pull it, some electronics lose their settings so I just leave it on a battery tender and leave the knob in when it is in the garage.
