Can anyone tell me how to "jump" the A/C compressor? did a total evac. on the system and it stopped taking Freon, r 12 after the first 12 OZ's.Its a new compressor and worked fine before the evac.

    Thanks!

another question, has anyone on this Forum filled their a/c system from empty? the manual states it takes approx. 42 oz. to fill the system, and at what number of Oz's does it take to get the pressures to a point where the a/c compressor turns on? approx. I just added 12 oz's and have not had the compressor turn on, do I need to add more r-12? low side pressure and high side or now at 80 each with the engine off.

Look in the front compartment and you will see the freon filter drier, screwed into the top of it is a low pressure switch ( looks like hex nut) - you need to either short the 2 wires together or just pull one off- cant remember which. Assuming you have engine running and AC selected the elect clutch on the compressor should engage. Failing that just conne t a 12 volt supply to the power cable on the compressor clutch
You are adding this freon with the compressor not running, be carefull you dont get the compressor full of liquid and then start it, they compress gas, not liquid

and remember to fill (with gas) from the low pressure side.
