It's also a beautiful color, but I prefer brighter and metallic blue tones like TDF oder this Blue Abu Dhabi.

Amazing, Tocho!!! Please just don't stop posting pictures, I'm still curious to see it under different lightings.

Abu Dhabi is a wonderful shade almost unknown, can't get enough of it!

Just back from the track for a few laps, what a car...to notice a performance difference with the coupe (which I drove at the same track a few months ago) you really have to be a very very goos driver. Im not Alonso but I dont suck either, and this car is phenomenal.

Anyway, just a quick note for those asking about paint maintenance. Anyone that says matte paint is difficult to clean doesnt know what he's talking about. Couldnt be easier. And best of all, you dont have to polish the damn thing to make it look good. All one needs is specialized matte products (used Dr Beasly, not affiliated) and they worked perfectly. Wash, wipe, dry, thats it.

    Cheers

Congrats. on the outstanding color choice. Glad to you read your feedback. I drove a matte silver MB S class for 3 years and the paint care was simple - I don't know where all the uninformed paranoia comes from.

    Well done!

Somehow it seems that matte finish takes away much (all?) of the depth of triple layer paints... but then again I've only seen it in pictures... what's your insight on this?

Looks much better in person than in pictures. Seriously have to see it live to appreciate it. Doesn't detract to the lines of the car at all, quite the contrary. But them again, im not exactly impartial.

    tocho,
How is the matte paint maintenance and long term reliability in your experience? I am thinking about buying the matte black. Thanks.

Your color choice is excellent, I will definitely go with matte on my next 458. I have an SLS now that is the matte Mangno Monza Grey (really looks more bronzish) and I love it. Once you go matte, you never go back LOL
