Hamilton quote from the BBC Motorsports website:

"I'm not too bothered about Ferrari, I think they're out of the picture. For me it's about beating Fernando."

I don't know; Kimi is coming alive and Hamilton has never driven an F1 car on the last three tracks...

    Len,

I read on the BenzWorld site about a British press report that at Spa-Francorchamp, FA paid his crew a 650 british pound bonus to support his effort to outperform Hamilton. Obviously it paid off, but the interesting thing is that these guys seem to be focused on each other more than anyone else. This could result in the one DNF that would push Kimi to within striking distance. Personally, I think Hamilton is very overvalued. IMO he is in the same league as a Robert Kubica - an excellent up and coming driver - but no Senna or Schumacher (Michael) ;)

Hi Andy. Wow, that FA knows how to play the game. Nothing like a little added incentive to further divide a team...

Those Mercedes engines are just due for a failure, kind of like MS's expiration in Japan last year.

I suppose its easy to get caught up in the Hamilton hype; I would like to see him in a less dominant car. Senna and MS drew initial attention to themselves because they were brilliant in inferior cars. I'd also like to see RK or Nico Rosberg in the McLaren, for that matter.

Hi Len, Take away the McLaren and the playing field starts to flatten out. I agree; Kubica in a McLaren would be a steep challenge for Hamilton to overcome. If McLaren has to play by the rules, heck, Kubica in the '08 BMW may be a steep challenge for LH to overcome !

I would give Hamilton much more credit if he were constantly running in 9 or 10 spot in a Spyker or Super Aguri compared to how he's doing in the McLaren.

This is how Williams lost the title to Alain Prost in 86. As much as i'd like to see Kimi win the title, i doubt he'll get too much of a chance, FA has always had a keen eye for the big picture. I think LH is in big trouble actually, getting cut off from Alonso's setup info (if the story is true) has hurt him. Obviously LH isn't as good with car set up as Alonso is. Kimi also said that from his understanding the new Fuji circuit may not suit the Ferrari. It's all looking like this year might go to Alonso after all. For all the super rookie stuff said about him, LH is still green and does make mistakes. I doubt he'll hold up to the pressure.

Kubicka can't even beat Heidfeld in an equal car, let alone Hamilton. Put him in a McLaren and Hamilton would destroy him.

    Nonsense.

He is in an equal car with the two-time defending WDC and beating him. If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about Hamilton's abilities then you need to follow a different sport.

so true guys, we can't tell how great, or not, Hamilton is in that car, because its just too easy. but things never stand still. he'll have some difficulty at some point and then we'll see.
i'm always surprised that everyone thinks being young and a rookie is a dis-advantage? these days its a big advantage! he has no bad habits, nothing to get used to, just drive, young and dumb! others have experience...they are used to the other tires, the other cars, etc....only time will tell....

Lewis isn't so dominate without Fernando sharing his setups, is he? If I were him, I'd be concerned with Fernando as well!

Lewis: "Hello mate, sharing those setups today I hope?"
Alonso: "Not now, I have to check my e-mail..."
    Lewis: "Well then, go swivel."

...with only three races left the only one to challenge him for the 2007 WDC is Alonso as Kimi would have to outscore him by 4.3+ points per race to beat him...

...I can see a crash or a blown engine on Hamiltons future for no particular reason besides BAD KARMA...

    ...maybe he´ll collide
    ...maybe Alonso will ram him...
    maybe Massa will...
I dont know...I ´ve been getting bad vibes for this Hamilton guy lately...

oh!..and about this Mr. Alonso too...very bad vibe...

or...alonso will succeed in running his team mate off like he almost did during the opening laps of spa resulting in a DNF for hamilton. =P

Despite the recent attitude hamilton has been displaying i still think he's a great guy with loads of talent. He's just had enough of alonso's antics both on and off the track.

    Outscoring 4.3 points per race...
    Not easy, but certainly possible.

Let us assume Ferrari should pull off three 1-2 finishes in the last three races.
Let us then assume Kimi is the winner in each of those races.
If then Alonso should beat Lewis in at least one of the last three races:

KIMI will be the 2007 WDC

(Three victories for Kimi, and two third places and one fourth for Hamilton would leave both drivers at 114 points, and Kimi would take the title due to winning more races than Hamilton.)

Anyone else notice that Lewis has gotten more arrogant as the season has progressed? It must be the effect of working with Ron Dennis and Fernando Alonso everyday. I feel bad for the boy.

Funny you say that because Kubica can't even overcome Heidfeld, yet Lewis has been beating Alonso up until a couple races ago.

Not to take anything away from NH, but RB crashed in Montreal, sat out Indy, and took an engine penalty at Spa; no wonder NH leads him in points.

Cmon man...RELAX!... I was consulting my magic cristal "very clever fishbowl"!!! ...if my little fish turns right, or left, or breaths, then is a puncture...

I was saying that in the PURE INTEREST OF THE SHOW is just something to even things out...

...of course I dont want them to get killed or have a BAD accident...
...a mild spin in the last 2 minutes of Q3 will do!...any McLiaren Driver will do, thanks.
...or Hami tangling with alonso into a graveltrap will...something less dramatic?...maybe a gearbox problem..dont they have a new one?
...or a blown engine on any of both will do...my bad...too dramatic...
...or crashing both coming out of the pitlane for possition?...that will be a rating-to-the-roof maneouvre

can you see the portrait clearer now?
