Where I work there is a professional photo studio that does magazine shoots, vehicle photo shoots and what not. Every so often the owner of the studio asks if I can bring my car in for a shoot as a background. I have no problem with this but thought he might want more of a variety of cars. If anyone is interested in this in the future next time he asks. Let me know. You are able to drive the vehicle in yourself and do the positioning. You can watch the shoot or go somewhere. Facility has a 3 sided white background with light booms.

Pretty neat I thought. I'm not a photographer but I know this equipment he's using has got to be some nice stuff.

Anyway, just a thought if anyone is interested.

So, this is a professional studio, where the photographer gets paid, the lighting guy gets paid, the models get paid, the make-up artist gets paid, the studio owner gets paid, even the janitor gets paid. I wouldn't mind donating for someone that is just learning the craft, but you are bringing a very expensive asset that would cost a small fortune for day rental. No reason (other than curiosity) to not get something out of the deal. Did they have your car detailed by someone you trust (after all, you want it to look its best in the shot.)

If nothing else, you should probably clarify up front who pays to have the car fixed should something happen (like someone bumping over a lighting stand, or say, an errant piercing on a model (can't be too sure where they are these days.)) Crap happens, doubly so on a publisher's deadline.

Being that I am not actually not doing the photography, I would not have a clue. Those questions would be best posed to the establishment. I am "volunteering" this as an offer to be out there and available. Nothing more, nothing less. I also stated you could "chaperone" the proceedings involving the vehicle. If it's something you want to do when/if the opportunity arises, it's totally up to you. I will know more after they have shot my car on Friday. But like I said I work there so it's easier for me to keep an eye on the car.

I might volunteer my Gallardo, if I get some pics out of the deal.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have a problem with requesting the shots. I will have some due to me from this one.
