Yes, Maintaining as close to the original tire circumference delta front to rear is going to be the cheapest way to deal with this. Also I would think ECU's from 02 and up would also give you more latitude.

I LOVE having a 99. There is a clear difference in sound due to no precats and also they are way more lenient on emmisions related check engine lights that subsequent years and are a bit faster. The tradeoff if that is ABS / ASR is not as flexible and the F1 TCU is a joke. I installed a new CS TCU and that pretty much makes the 99 IMHO the best possible 360 spec of all. Especially with the Challenge Rims.

What size do you think you will go with to correct your issue? I was thinking of going with Oliver’s set up. Unless you think of something else. I’ve been working on this issue for two weeks. I’ll let you know if I find a solution but I’m the mean time let me know if you find one as well. Thanks

I always drive in sport mode. Haven’t tried it with asr off but my only issue is when braking. I get an abs pulse. Everything else is really ok. I do feel like I get a pull to the right under good acceleration but idk what the heck that is.

So, question for you. I see you found the other thread about the guy curing his issue by putting a 245/35/19 up front and I know you will be doing that in the future but I was wondering..... do you have the wheels Oliver made? The guy in the other thread had factory CS wheels and Oliver’s have a 9mm offset over the factory CS wheels so they stick out 9mm further. That combined with the width of the 245 tire, do you have a concern of the tire hitting the fender under hard braking or turn in? It does worry me a bit. Unless Oliver can give us some insight on this and let us know if he feels there is still enough room for clearance.

Alright everyone. I did some tests and here’s the results. I left my challenge wheels on the rear and put my stock wheels up front and went for a test drive. It was absolutely disgusting! I was having huge ABS pulsing and I felt very unsafe. Just getting on the brakes lightly to slow down was scary and it felt like I was on ice. I did get on the highway and went 100 mph and got on the brakes hard and the fronts locked up somewhere around 80 mph. If anyone wants to know how to make a tent on your leather seat then consider this the DIY for that. I went back home and put the challenge fronts back on and went for another ride. I wasn’t having anything near what I had just experienced. This time I was very thorough and did some spirited driving. Hard into corners etc. slight feedback from ABS but totally manageable and the car will stop. I then got on the interstate (on the autobahn [emoji6]) and went 140 mph then got very firm on the brakes. This time no locking and the car did a great job braking. The ABS kicked in like it should have and I expected it to. This was purely to see if the car actually had braking issues. I then got into some corners again and the car did fine. I felt safe. My conclusion is that it may be a combination of two things. The wheels out perform the stocks and I notice more ABS feedback because the car is actually slowing down better and faster because they are lighter and as crazy as it sounds, maybe the slickness from the tire mold does have something to do with it. I do feel like it is getting better the more I drive. So, that’s my experience. I also tried it with sport and ASR on and off. It was the same. One thing is that I never had any lights coming on. It was all in my brake pedal. All I experienced was a slight pulse from the ABS but it seems to be working it’s way out.

    This is a good point

Mine is pretty low in the front compared to most 360's I see, so for me, the wider 245 tire would definitely rub on the outside of the fender.

If the car sat higher up an inch it would be fine I'd imagine, but I've always ridden low and so she stays. :)

I have been lazy but I need to roll the fenders...will get some rub on the outer tire/fender while turning and going up an incline already with the 225.

Yes, I could see rubbing happening with a 245 then for sure. At least you found a way to be able to enjoy your car for the time being. [emoji51][emoji1303]

Ya know, even at the worst when the car doesn't run....at times I wonder if I get just as much enjoyment staring at her like a work of art as I do driving her. :)

Thanks to Oliver for making these wheels available, I have re-fallen in love with my car. That's a priceless feeling :)

I know what you mean. Sometimes I’m like, I should go for a ride and then I’m like.... nah, I just cleaned it and it’s spotless so I don’t want to get it dirty. So I just sit in the garage and look at it. Haha!

I ended up finding a see of 18" BBS challenge whells off of a 360 Challenge and had them refurbished. Uber light, same look and no worries about compatibility with an early 360

I just compared the titanium bolts to the steel bolts. I had been running the titanium bolts on the driver's side and the steel bolts on the passenger side.

The steel bolts only provide a contact area of about 40% of the designated conical contact area in the wheel.

    Please see the attached pictures.

In the first picture you can see that less than half the unpainted area had contact with the bolt.

In the second picture you can see that the conical area of the titanium bolt is about twice as tall. That means it provides about three times as much contact area as the steel bolt because the circumference gets wider as you move out on the bolt.

Titanium bolts are of course much lighter at only 58 grams compared to128 grams.

20 Titanium bolts are $400 shipped, including the tool.

I don't have any wheels left to sell.

If there is demand I can put another order in.

    Who wants a set?

    Christmas is coming.

The titanium bolts are just bad ass...the rims are so inexpensive, adding the titanium bolts seems like a must do.
