Just finished my Spider Stradale project, still missing a few bits but over all I am satisfied. Having sold my real Challenge Stradale, I wanted something just as unique and since Ferrari didnt build it, I like others did it my self. I know I divide You in two, lovers and haters, but the background for me is simple : In Denmark we pay monthly to drive our cars, otherwise we are extremly overtaxed on cars, the Stradale cost me 3200,- US$ pr. month to drive with danish tax, the spider will cost me under US$ 1500,- pr. month and on top of that is a spider. So i build it properly, with the Factory racing Exhaust system and the original CS TCU, I can now enjoy a cheaper version of the CS and with the fantastic sound in a spider. Bits to be perfect : CCB and factory Carbon mirrors......... Awesome job! Best of both worlds. Btw you might find it interesting to hear there's another CS Spider. It's a black manual in the US. The owner is also here on ferrarichat. Challenge-Stradale.com - Ferrari 360 CS VIN 138749
Hi Mike I actually bid on that car at the auction back then, but as You can see I didn't win I followed this thread, and that did indeed inspire me to this project of mine, surely i knew I wouldn't be able to finish it of so well as anexpert, but still without a complete donorcar i like the result i made. Thomas
Thomas, kudos for a job well done! I think it is a beautiful interpretation of what a CS Spider would look like. The dash and doors are a real pain so I can understand why you would not undertake that detail, however most everything else appears to be as the factory might have done if they were to build one. Looking forward to more pictures and updates but it looks GREAT as it sits.
Thanks for the nice coments, winter is here so i wont be testdriving it until april 2014.....:-( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
wow I have done the same as you (just missing CS wheels to be perfect) and didnt think the stripe would look any good on a spider but having seen yours I am now thinking it would look quite fitting...
So hold Your breath now : Fully taxed and on the road all year around in Denmark, the price for an original Challenge Stradale would be : 300.000 US$, thats sickining.......... If You can find the exchange rate for the danish krone, heres an example on a F430 : Ferrari F430 4,3 Spider F1 - Brugt bil til salg på BilBasen.dk - Forhandler Price in Denmark Danish kroner 1.695.000,- A new F430 16M would set You back in the year 2009 around 1.100.000,- US$ (Yes US$) Now You can throw up...............
I have a simple rule: if someone states honeestly what they've done; I respect them. If they try to fool others, I don't respect them. You did a fanstastic job and you are honest, so you get my respect. When I was Austria I was sickened to hear that it would cost ~ $4000/year to drive a 360 (they did not make a distinction between a 360 and a CS). Sorry to hear your CS would be 10 times that.
Wow, having to pay such high taxes should be a human rights violation. That thing is amazing, well done...
Image Unavailable, Please Login
