    good morning !

    after 15 porsche 911's last friday i finally took ownership of a 2000 w 360 mod manual.

after 12 years of porsche ownership and 15 cars almost every type of 911 available ive tried.

after witnessing the porsche brand now becoming more 'common' and trade in prices from opc's laughable i dicided to buy the car id always wanted and was always frightened to buy (dont know why)

any way i bought a 2000 red 360 mod with black interior manual. with fsh and now 13000 miles,2 owners, i purchased it privately without warranty

as i cant seem to get hold of info from my local cealer (brooklands leeds) what extras could this car have fited as i think it only has a rear challenge grill as an extra

also the car seems to be in mint condition, can anyone help and ask me if it has this that and whatever fitted as im not sure what should be fitted as standard or extras,

i paid £ 70000 for this car (belt service done last year)

tyres ok and it needs next service about october

please guys have i done ok and should i sit back and be pleased with myself or have i taken big risk.

i do know i shud budget aprox £5000 a year maintenance this is no prob as normally change my porsche twice a year whaich cost more to change!

so please guys help me! any advice comments etc etc welcome

    thanks in advance Tim

Congrats but I hope you won't be spending £5000 a year in maintenance!

Why did you change your Porsche twice ayear? Does this mean you had two brand new ones every year?

Hi , welcome and congrats. As Graham mentions , you shouldn't be paying anywhere £5k a year to look after your car. Annual + belts is around £1.5 k from specialist to give an idea. Extras would include coloured calipers, shields on wing, coloured stiching, leather headlining, audio/sat nav upgrades, front/rear challenge grill, sport seats etc...

    hi thanks for your replies

with regard to the porsches i changed sometimes 3 times a year not always for better models just how i felt at time not always new but had possible 5 new porsches. and have a C4S on order for dec this year ! was hoping if business permits to run the porsche as daily transport ! as still have soft spot for the 911.

but have to say on first drive of my 360 i really cudnt stop smilling its fab.

looks like my car really has only a rear challenge grill as extra! it has wing badges but they not the factory fitted metal ones!!! are the stick on ones regarded as ' silly' shud i remove then or are they aceptable

so guys do u think i paid good price or did i pay to much and shud i get a farrarri warrenty from my local dealer he quoted £ 1500 for 1 year

oh and thanks for the warm welcome!

Wing badgers are a personal choice. For me, I dont really like the stick on ones (though I have yet to see the enamel (sp) ones like Chaa can get).

In the absence of others opinions, I'll give my own. W plate 360's with similar miles are currently being advertised from mid-to-high £60's upwards. Its not easy to say if yours is expensive, but it is in the right ball-park and with you stating its mint and its not due a big service for a while, it's probably about right.

    Again, this is just MHO.

    Cheers

Welcome Tim, hope you gonna like the 360 more than 911s.

I bought my 360 Modena with the following in November 2004.

Manual, registered in 05/2000, 18.5k miles, mint, private sale, annual srvice due in 3 months at the time, Grigio Alloy/ dark blue.

Factroy extras : Colour coded interior, carbon race seats, roll bar, fire extingushier, four points harness, tracker.

I also paid 70k so I guess what you have paid should be ok.

Now you own the car, I would not worry about what you have paid for it too much. Enjoy it instead.

    From sunny Scotland

    many thanks for your replies

hope i will enjoy it would be churlish not to lol

one last thing shud i get a warranty from my ferrari dealer they quoting £1500 im debating weather its worth it! or should i just take attitude of'1500 quid can fund a lot of repairs' what do other ownerds do in my position.

also can ferrari owners join the AA or RAC or are cars of this ilk excluded from their services. this would probably give me a little piece of mind with regards to home recovery

    please let me know

    cheers Tim

Wrnty is a moot point; you will be limited on what's covered and there will be a financial limit on each claim. No prob re AA or RAC membership. Did you have a PPI done before buying the car?

Don't worry that you've paid £10k over the market price :) , just enjoy the car.

Interested to hear your thoughts vs the Porsches.

Personally wouldn't worry about warranties if the car has been checked over, save the warranty money towards servicing and a Tubi. RAC & AA are fine.

do u think i have paid to much

problem is i cant find anything else like mine for 70 grand which would suggest the price was correct

help have i been ripped off

cant compare as most ov the porsches have been new or almost new

the attention from the public is ten times more but unfortunately mostly from men not girls lol

but as far as the cars go quality etc is about same performance is about same as my 996 turbo maybe bit slower

    cheers

    Don't worry.

70k is not a bad price.

Rick can you really find a similar 360 for 60k, or are you just taking p***?

Seen it on Pistonheads - would you take £60k ??????

At the end of the day £74k is hell of a lot of money, it's not everyone who has access to that kind of cash - you've either got to wait for the right buyer or make the offer (£60k ?) suitably attractive

    Rick
