Yeah, I'm traveling this week and decided to just use iphone safari and log into the new site. Its "good enough" to get my f-chat fix. Its not "tapatalk good", but certainly livable until then. Since we are chatting here - the one tapatalk feature that would be great to have in the new site is the "participated threads" view. That's pretty much my go to on tapatalk
would be very curious to see what a dealer would charge you to fix everything on your list. Maybe you should get a quote for all the remaining work just to see what it is.
A '75 Spitfire is a handful of quirks. Built on ww ll technology, it was pretty much antique when it came off assembly line. If Ferrari one day - makes a dash with no systems warnings, I am all in right now. You got a great ride...keep the thread going while you shake things down over time. The evaporation code (P0440) is like the evaporation valves (two) or the carbon filter. Start with the evaporation valve ($20/piece).

I know you've taken some crap for this purchase, but I commend you. You are a man after my own heart. Mine wasn't salvage, but it had 50k+ miles, little history, and needed a good amount of work, which I've enjoyed doing over the past 9 months. Many told me I would be buying a problem, and they could have easily been right, but I've turned it into a pretty nice car after it had obviously suffered a little bit of neglect and some undesirable options. I've saved a ton of money by DIY. It will never be a collector's car, but I doubt I will lose a dime on it if I ever sell it.
I love this thread. Even if your eventual cost including the value of your labor ends up comparable to just buying a normal one, you'll end up knowing so much more than the rest of us. I sort of regret buying a low miles expensive one sometimes because it makes me not want to just drive the heck out of it.
Does anyone know a easy way to get the fender sheild off ? I took off the 3 nuts on the back but she will not move?
I have two 360s, both red and from 2001. If the car is still in CA, have it transported to Fast Cars in Redondo Beach and request a thorough assessment. Then you'll know what you're working with before it arrives in MA. . .
Glad tapatalk is back on so i can follow ur progress! Impressive so far! How much have u spent yet ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
