    Aaron,

Congrats - 355 spider is simply gorgeous. Post some pics!

First thing is to find out when the last major service was ("belt service") - ideally you have a receipt showing this. If you don't, unfortunately ($$) you're gambling big time that the belt and tensior bearings are in good shape. You NEVER want a cam belt to break or slip on any Ferrari. If the car's running well, I wouldn't lose sleep over the spark plugs, but I probably wouldn't sleep till I knew the belt was fresh and the bearings sound.

If the car was just sitting around, not being driven, for a while, belts and bearings can still go bad. (I bought a 9-year old 911 with 11,000 miles on it - belts were cracking all over from lack of use.)

Either way, I'd probably let a good independent Ferrari mechanic check out the safety items (brake hydraulics and fuel lines come to mind first). You didn't mention the model year, but the early 355's have some well-known issues with cracked headers. Hopefully you had the car inspected before you bought it, but if not that's something that your mechanic could determine quickly.

An oil change and brake fluid change is always a good idea on a newly acquired used car, unless you know it was done recently. (Not just for Ferrari's...)
