I just bought my first ferrari a 79 308 I had been a porsche guy for years. So far I love it!!! I have some funds left and was wondering if a qv hood will fit? If so is it bolt on? I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find a search bar anywhere on the site...newbie. Thanks.

Congratulations on your first purchase! I am in the same boat as you are, Porsche background, but I'm still looking for a 308. I'm not exactly sure, but the last time I remember seeing a QV and non-QV car, the hood mounts were identical. But, I can't be 100% positive since I was around both cars at the same time a year ago.

Congrats on your purchase, but remember that Ferrari ownership is alot more expensive then Porsche ownership. I don't know what kind of budget you gave yourself, but if you have funds left over you may want to save it for maintainance. My budget on my 328 was 2k per year which didn't include the 5k emergency fund that I also put aside.

A Ferrari is a nice compliment to a Porsche. It is nice to have one of each.
If you work on your own Ferrari the costs are manageable. However on the Ferrari every thing is a little harder to get too and more complicated than the Porsche. So if you have to take your Ferrari to a shop at $100 per hour, your pockets are going to have to be a lot deeper than for the Porche.

I have 7500 reserved for service and emergencies. I bring in an ok paycheck so I think I'll be ok. Thank you for the cautions though. I'll get some pics up soon.

Apart from a major, my routine annual service for the last five years runs between $200 - $400.
