Hi all, I just bought my first ferrari right before Chrismas and this is my best Christmas gift ever. I really thank to GOD more than ever. I was dreamed about Ferrari since I was 16 when I first saw a beautiful yellow F355 spider in Vancouver. It took me 12 years to realize my dream and I am now a very happy Ferrari owner. I actually looked for either rossocorsa or yellow, but it was very hard to find one with excellent condition. So I end up with more stealthy and beautiful TDF 360 with perfect tan interior. The only concern on this car is that it does not have a scuderia shield. So I just placed an order from YOSHIELD. If anyone put Yoshield's shield on their car, would you please share your pics with me? Thanks, BJ Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
new to the ferrari world and i'd like to understand the big deal on the shield, there's one on mine but i thought it came with all cars.
The shield was an option on the 360. The signifigance is that all of the "racing" cars of the past had them on it and since becoming an option on the street cars, it has arguably become one of the most desireable. There is a lot of interesting history with the shield invovling Enzo and the begining of his racing career, do the search, it's worth knowing! Welcome to Ferrari ownership. I love the TDF!
Congrats on the beautiful blue 360. I'm looking to replace my yellow 360 with possibly a blue 430. TdF blue is an awesome color!
Forget the sheilds...why do you need them? you already know its a ferrari. Im sure others will figure out its a ferrari even without the shields. It destroys the lines. Instead you should be getting a challenge grill....it looks more modern and helps with engine cooling... k
Nice Ferrari to start with! Great color for a 360, a challenge grill would be a good choice on your new car. Peter
Beautiful specimen. Love the TDF. Shields are a personal preference. They are desirable for resale. I personally prefer them. Ray
TdF is one of my favorite 360 colors. Well done. The shields were reserved for the race cars and 'special' edition cars (ie 288, F40, F50, Enzo). Since they made them available to their 'production' cars, it has become a wonderful profit center for the factory.
Enjoy the car- blue is beautiful! Shields is a personal preference (don't know why some people bash them)- first thing I bought for my car was shields that arrived in the mail before the car even got to me! I disagree that it ruins the lines- I can post pictures when I get to my home computer- I took pictures before applying the shields and after- before just looks plain to me. I agree the challenge grill looks awesome and actually has a function- I'll be getting one soon (want to get some service in the spring and clear bra applied first and see if there's any $ left in the car budget for 2010 ) Regarding the yoshi shields- they are awesome. They are nice & if at some point you or another owner doesn't want them you can just take a hair drier to warm up the shield and peel it off with no damage to the paint- its just a sticker like application (although a strong sticker, like those annoying dealership tags that I have been removing with a hairdrier on all of my family's cars for the past 20 years...)
A lot of people wouldn't care, but I would never think to buy a ferrari without shields. Make sure you know the difference between factory recessed shields and aftermarket stick ons. It's a significant detail to me but the the layman might not care. Congrats on your first and wish you many more to come. -Peter Oh
Thanks guys for replies. I received Yoshi's shield on Jan.1, 2010. What a great way to start new year!!! The very first thing I did this year is to putting shield on my 360, and IMO it does look very very nice with shield. My friends can't even tell the difference between OEM and Yoshi's. I am now very satisfied. Here are pictures of my car that I took over the weekends for you to enjoy and I wish all of you the best and happy new year to you all and your families.
