...an Aston Martin from Long Island NY......... Included in the car is an Alpine stereo IVA-C800 with "TV" ,DVD and CD changer. Unfortunately it is more or less useless here in Sweden since the radio is programmed for the US and only work on "uneven" channels such as 101,1 and 101,3 and so on. Here in this godforsaken country we have channels on even frequencies as well. Anyone interested ????? Rgds, //B//
We need a thread for unwanted audio equipment we remove from our cars. I got a box of 70 lbs of junk that came out of my car that I just cannot come to throw out. How many others are in this boat? Good luck with off-loading your stuff. I wish you better luck than I had.
The radios are the first I throw out. There is no nostalgic points for period-correct pieces of audio junk for me. My GT4 came with an 8-track, which was thrown out the next day. My 348 came with a Sony CD player and a CD shuttle. The head unit amp was blown on 3 of 4 channels and the CD shuttle did not have any CD carrier. They both got thrown immediately. The 355 came with a Nakamichi CD player but does not play MP3. I am still noodling about replacing it with a MP3 CD player. The 328 audio dynamics are so bad I don't even care what's in it. There is no bass, any way.
I am up to 50 lbs on my box. Old radios, CD changers, alarm systems, car cell phones, poorly installed battery tender leads,..........
Isn't it possible to change the frequency step parameter? On some units you can go down to 50kHz. If not ,may be, a euro firmware could be downloaded ...
My plan is to install the Alpine I took out of my 348 into my dad's old 2 ton truck - I attached a pic to make this thread a little more interesting. I don't know why I keep this truck - other than dad bought it new in 68 - lots of memories but no radio -yet! Image Unavailable, Please Login
.....I have checked that.....obviously they sell the same unit here, but then it is called IVA-C800R. //B//
