Finally had the chance to drive my 296 on track last Saturday and Sunday. Compared with my previous experience I only drove 35 laps (including out and cool down laps) within 2 days, which is a lot less than what I usually do.

Starting with the "bad" things about the car on track. First is the front tires (CUP 2 R) wear a lot faster than expected. The soft part (outer half ) were 90% gone by end of Sunday, which is surprising as out of those 35 laps only less than 5 of them were me running Gung ho trying to do lap time. The 2nd "bad" thing is that the steering wheel is too light in high speed corner to make me feel comfortable going in at high speed.

But other than that the car is freaking awesome! The power from 120kph to 250kph is crazy, I was able to hit 277kph by the end of the straight (GPS shows 26x). By the 5th lap or so I was able to break my previous best record (which is in a little Alfa 4c lol), and by the being on 2nd day I was able to constantly doing the best lap time with in 0.2 sec, until I call it a day as the front ties gave up on braking at the end of the straight. The oil temp and water temp cool down to mid 80 degrees after1 cool down lap, and 2 cool down laps would cool down the brakes to normal street temp. The dash will tell you which caliper overheat, and/ or the whole system is a bit too hot.
I had a chance to drive the AF pack during the last Ferrari event, and the difference on track is very noticeable. The AF car had no body roll, while mine roll too much body roll for my liking.

Overall the car is close to perfect, although there is no comparison, but I was able to do 7sec faster than my previous car, while this time my turn in speed is slower. I hope there is aftermarket brake pads support and the tires are less expensive... I think I am able to do 1:45 if the weather is better.

Thanks for the write up. I suspect these cars will benefit mightily from switching tires to one of the new super 200s. I know the GY supercar 3s come in stock sizes. I’ve only been able to track the base car so I’m really looking forward to my AF showing up.

Cup 2 R are insane tires I’m surprised you wore them down so quickly.
Personally for me a little body roll is fine for the trade off of extra comfort and a lift. But for the track junky, AF pack maybe is a must. I maintain though that for a real track junky a 296 is overkill expensive.

I drove across the border from Hong Kong with a special permission to a track called ZIC in Mainland China.

Argee, the 296 is too expensive of a track junky toy considering there isn't much after market support.

My resell spec include the following: carbon seat, the shield, rear view camera, suspension lift, carbon steering wheel and yellow calipers
