My time is limited so I like to have all the parts/tools on-hand beforehand..this started out with a general tune-up and is now going to include the belts (only - no timing) but it is summer driving season and don't want to f*k up the job and then have a mess to tow to a mechanic who at that unfortunate point he would own me.

Also, planning on dropping the 348 engine to do those belts too (based on this chat and the car it looks doable -- I bought a midrise lift and have a air compressor so that should help in both jobs) I think the 2V tools might not fit in between the QV cams as I think the clearence is much smaller and you can't get behind the QV cam drives as you can on the 2v so it is trickier.

You're correct, The 2V tool can NOT be used on 4V cars, was offering the 4V tool we used for the JWise timing drove job. I am working on a refined 4V design. When are you planning on starting?

Teflon is pretty slippery. Even the nylon I used would be problematic, except that the bandsaw left lots of little ridges (took me about 15 minuites to hack it out) that let me use weatherstrip cement to glue some strips of innertube to it. The glue is good for a couple of uses, then tends to come off.

I'm seriously thinking about just making production ones out of maple that just clamp the gears like the protos do. They'll be fine for simple belt changes. Just haven't had time to do a high quality layout & run some off.
