I live at the continuum, its one of the best buildings in town, you should see the garage, Im not kidding when I say there's over 10 aventadors at this condo alone. It's 2 towers, and there's probably over 50 lambo's + ferrari's in 1 garage, the S63 coupe I have, there's no joke about 30 of those + bentley GT's those are probably the most popular cars.

You might want to research 360s as well.

I love the 360, its a cool car, I just have a special place in my heart for the 355 spider, its a car I always wanted when I was a teenager. I think ever since I saw the rock, the movie, it was always my dream car haha

    REALLY?

He asked, I only said something about spiders because of the question, I didn't magically feel the need to bash him on spiders so relax, that's a reason from me not to be interested, I second that I would also pass because of the interior color.

I am like you and think the 355 spider is one of the most beautiful modern Ferrari's. I just bought my first one in October. I got mine for way less than this one, but it had 45,000 miles and I spent quite a bit on maintenance. But now that it's sorted I absolutely love it. It did come with a lot of service records including the most recent belt service in 2015.

I would want some service records.

Bought my '97 355 spider last November at a fair price. So far spent nothing but gas and car detailing products. Runs like a champ, despite not having any PPI done. Even drove it to Lime Rock Park (150mi each way) last Mem Day with spurts of WOT acceleration. You'll know if a car's not running 100% when you floor it joining a highway. Sure it's seat of pants but sometimes these compresion numbers can be more confusing and less telling- not always but sometimes. Look at posts right on this board. Bottom line, get the best 355 you can afford with ample records and yes PPI which I do on occasion especially if I don't know the seller.

I'm also a Porsche guy, PCA member, but after buying this car now proudly with FCA! Different experience but same fun and passionate car group.

    I own 2 355's (had 3). 2 bought sight unseen. 1 I did PPI. Not a big deal.

Bought mine without a PPI. Not necessarily the advice I would give to others but many have had successful transactions sans inspection. Good luck with your search/purchase.

A PPI is really important if there is no full (recent ) history of a well known specialist. (even then things like leak down are a risk)
I do not buy the story of not being able to find the info right away.
My suspicion is that there is no real history. Just a backstreet invoice for some work being done, and he does not want to show that because the car itself looks good.
A red with tan spider is not the most rare car, you wil find another with history for that amount.
This one is a risk at 65k, and if something goes wrong you will end up with yet another pile of cash burned. Only if you are lucky this is a good buy. (when you want to resell, it still has no history, making it is 50-55k car. Then you have 10k to make the history)
That said, I bought mine without ppi or history, but the price was accordingly.
