Wow, what a car... far superior to the 360, smooth - sounds great and solid too unlike other cabs. Anyone played with Launch Control yet? Just read the manual - sounds like a winner!

Do the US cars have launch control??? I know you're in the UK, but i'm just wondering, as i believe the US CS's did not have LC.

Oh, and Congrats on the car, you must of course post pics!!!!

I dont think its that they are pushing him, it just when someone gets a FCar, and more so at 25, you would at min, expect his profile to represent it. Posting pictures, and a serial are easy ways to get the sniffing out of the way.

I know when I got my first FCAR, or even my 2nd and 3rd, I took pictures like crazy, I couldnt wait to get them out to everyone. Hell when I wasnt driving, I was emailing and posting pictures. but hey, thats just me... :)

I know this is an old thread, but I purchased my first Ferrari last year, an 09 F430 Spider and I'm trying to learn as much as possible about it. I'm curious if anyone on this forum has an idea of the last f430 serial number that was produced in 09. I know they built Scuds and 16Ms but I'm just wondering how close mine was to the end of the production run. My serial number is in the 168,000s. Thanks for any info or guidance where I might be able to find the info.

    The latest 2009 430 VIN I’ve seen is 169635.

Are you referring to the last of digits of the VIN # ? I didn't think they were complexly sequential. I thought you really were supposed to look at assembly number to know when your car was actually built. FYI: My 2009 F430 assembly number is 83720

They are generally in VIN sequence, at least in the US. There are some outliers though. Here’s what I’ve tracked so far:

    2007 - VINs 150974 to 158043
    2008 - VINs 157676 to 164987 (mine is 164651, made in Oct 2008)
    2009 - VINs 164277 to 169635 (164277 was an Oct 2008 build gated FNA Display Vehicle and 164751 was a 2009 Scud)

So you can see some overlaps at the transition between model years.

Did they skip around a lot as well? interwebs always reference around 15k made but just those numbers between 2007 and 2009 account for over 18k.

Exactly... I don't think they were exactly sequential and increment by 1 because Ferrari uses assembly numbers when talking about revisions to parts.
