Not many people have the 6-speed manual, but that's what I have! Love the handling, interior, exterior looks. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gorgeous! That's Mediterranean Blue, right? With the Vintage accessories (side scoops, blueface instruments, etc.). Very tasteful ensemble. If and when you have about $3K lying around you don't know what to do with, consider putting a Tubi exhaust on the car. Transforms the sound and smoothes the shifting noticeably. If you're not already a member: http://www.themaseraticlub.com/tmc.html Great guys & lots of good fellowship & advice. There's also a Maserati Forum at: http://www.maseratiforum.net/ in case you want to check it out. The Maserati brochure for the Coupé sez that top speed in Reverse is 55mph, so you can now cruise down the freeway backwards if you really want to be noticed. Enjoy! (It's a tough job, but somebody has to drive these.)
I think you made a good choice and will be happier with it in the long run. I had an '02 CambioCorsa for awhile, and simply could not get the paddles into my movie, as it were. Guess I come from a generation where a real sports car has a manual gearlever on the floor, with at least 4 forward gears. Twitching little paddles with your pinky is just not the same!
My dad is looking to get an 04 or 05 coupe. He used to say that it has to be a 6-speed. Now he is changing his tune just because there are so few of them. Did you order this one from the factory or was it already like this?
Got an 02 Spyder I'm trying to sell, welcome to the club though. Come visit us over at maseratiforum.net, it's fairly active. I'm also a sponsor on there so hope to see you there.
Great Choice Quakman! I like the color combination with the vintage package. Ive had mine for awhile now and the fun has not stopped. As Rachane mentioned, the tubi will transform the car. It's not too loud at all, and will give the car even more character.
Very nice! I just picked up my '05 Yellow Coupe GT on 11/23. Mine has the Vintage Pack too which looks great. Just had my windows tinted and I have to get the Tubi exhaust very soon!
Thanks a lot, guys. I can't wait to put the Tubi on! I purchased this car from Sports Car Company in California and had it shipped to Long Island. It took them over two weeks!
Congrats. I recommend the following mods. 1. Lower the car 2. BMC air filter. 3. Mille Miglia exhaust...way better sounding than the tubi 4. Custom aluminum mid pipes...if weight reduction and waking the neighbours is a must. Here is a poor sound clip of my car with all the above mods. http://media.putfile.com/millemigliaexhaust http://media.putfile.com/inside86
Congratulations, one of the most beautiful colours on a coupe. But ofcourse I'd say that, mine is the same exterior colour. I still get comments from people how good it looks in that shade of blue.
Sounds great, but it may be a bit loud. What's the price like compared to the Tubi? Med blue is really nice, especially since I waxed it recently.
You can probably pick up a Mille Miglia on sale now for about $2k. It sound alot more aggessive than a tubi for about half the price. No regrets here.
Ther maseratiforum has more late car people so it's probably a good choice. There are Maserati people of every flavour over at the "Maserati" Yahoo group site. But if you had the car shipped to Long Island I assume you're in the NYC area. In this area TMC is pretty much a dead club. Very little activity. You could try MCI but it's not that active here either. Both clubs have good magazines but very different. Maserati Club International is much larger. Try them both. Bob S.
congrats....Love the interior contrast...very European. ....from another 6 speed coupe owner on the other coast...
Hey, a question. Since you guys have the 6 speed, how is it as a gearbox? I've heard some people complain about it. Bob S.
