Here is the Ad for posterity: 1975 FERRARI DINO 308 GT4 - $14500 (NAPLES) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2009-12-13, 5:32PM EST Reply to: see below -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I AM A VERY KNOWLEDABLE CAR COLLECTOR, HAVING BEEN AT IT FOR 50 YEARS. I HAVE OWNED 23 FERRARIS SINCE 1965.I AM LIQUIDATING MY COLLECTION DUE TO AGE AND POOR HEALTH. I HAVE BOOKS AN RECORDS FROM NEW. IT IS A TWO OWNER CALFORNIA CAR THAT WAS SOLD NEW IN 1975 TO A DOCTOR . IT WAS PURCHASED FROM HOLLYWOOD SPORTS CARS IT WAS SOLD TO THE SECOND OWNER IN1984. THE LAST MAJOR SERVICE WAS DONE LESS THAN 6,000 MILES AGO, AND WAS DONE BY FERRARI OF ORANGE COUNTY (COSTA MESA) I HAVE A RECEIPT FOR THAT SERVICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,000 DOLLARS.I HAD THE CAR ON MARCO ISLAND DURRING HURRICANE WILMA, AND IT RECEIVED SOME DINGS FROM COCONUTS IT WILL REQUIRE MINOR COSMETICS TO THE EXTERIOR. THIS IS NOT A POSSER OR WANNABE CAR. IT IS NIMBLE AND WILL TRACK WITH THE BEST OF THEM. IT WILL RUN CIRCLES AROUND THE 308 GTBS ( THE MAGNUM PI CAR) THE ORIGINAL INTERIOR IS MINT, SHOWING THE CARE THIS 35 YEAR OLD HAS RECEIVED (SEATS ARE LIGHT TAN OR OFF WHITE WITH RED CARPETS AND A BLACK DASH ) IT IS THE LEST EXPENSIVE GOOD FERRARI IN THE COUNTRY.IT IS ALOT MORE FUN TO DRIVE THAN MY 550 MARANELLO. THE CAR IS PRICED FAIR AN FIRM AT $14,500 CASH NO TRADES, BROKERS OR AGENTS. Sounds more than fishy but hey, you never know. Call the guy, if its someone trying to sell you a car that needs to be shipped from wherever you can always tell him your still waiting for that check to clear from your long lost relatives in some country you have never heard of that are now deceased but left a vast fortune to you, so, if he'd like to take a check against this collaterol then by all means........ laugh at him/her as hard as you can and hang up. But again, you never know, but being a collector for 50 years does, (along other things in the story line), sound a bit like a bait amnd hook scenario. Good luck and happy motoring
The part about the coconut dents sounds VERY familiar. I think this car has been discussed here. If you are serious about this car do a search for that. I wonder how many threads would come up in a search for "coconut dents"?
yes, and i have commented on the car the last 3 times it was for sale ( no offense to the OP). the car is rough, and has been sitting FOR YEARS. the coconut damage is not to be taken lightly either, i do remember the car needing a windshield also. i offered 10-12 for the car i think when it was " 16k" and he passed ( his right). i would pass unless its cheap, or can be seen and carefully looked over in person. it needs all the hoses, a belt service, tires, brakes, and thats just to drive it around the local neighborhood. body ??? electrical? books? tools? jack? spare? all $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ PPI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No offense taken. No interest on my part. I just ran across the posting and threw it out here in case there might be some interest!
As years go by, this will look better and better... Cocunuts in a hurricane! LOL! Remind me to use that one, when I sell off my "collection..." My Trans Am DID sit out thru Ike though, so if you don't care or have no one to help move it, that's how it goes...
I am "KNOWLEDABLE" too... Someone buy this thing and mod it up! ...another V-12 conversion (don't need no back seat). And, I didn't know Magnum drove a GTB....LOL!
