Just ordered a 911 Turbo S with following options:

    Red exterior with black top.
Side strip with model designation on the side in black.
Black leather interior with red sticthing throughout.
Interior dials (dash and sports chrono) in Guards red.
Porshe logo on headrests and Turbo S designation on center console.
Red Porsche logo on the wind deflector.
3 spoke multi function steering wheel in leather.
RS spyder wheels with single bolt in black color.
Model designation painted in black in the back.
    XM satellite radio.
    Some other small options.

Would love to hear from other Turbo S owners about their impressions on the car. I have personally never driven a 911 before but am looking forward to getting this car. Also thinking about Germany delivery so if anyone has done that would like some impressions on that also. Thanks!
The car build date is March 7 and is supposedly the last allocation my local dealership had.

In a straight line it’s the fastest car I have ever driven, almost too fast. The PDK in auto mode shifts instantly and without drama. The car sounds loud with the top down but otherwise very quiet. I have only launched my car once and it spins all four wheels for a moment. For a bench mark it will put 15 car lengths on a Z06 from a stop, without launch control, to 125 . The brakes will make your eye balls pop out. It hardly attracts any attention and the top could be put up or down while moving up to 30mph. 2000 mile break in will take discipline. The stereo is more than adequate and the blue tooth works great. I can truly say I have no complaints at all and would highly recommend.

Congrats on your new car. I just bought a turbo 911 at Mecum auction. Mine is much older, a 2002 model. I have owned two new 911's in the past and I forgot how wonderful these cars are.

Your car will be one of the fastest cars on the road if not the fastes. You will love how it drives and the reliability of these cars is lengendary.

If you look at my profile you can see I own a fair amount of cars. Some of these cars may do one thing better than a Porsche but the Porsche does everything right. It is a stunning car.

Good luck and drive it in good health.

    Regards

    Lee

    6spd or PDK?
If the latter opt for the dynamic engine mounts.
    you may also consider getting:
    Ipod interface
center console (pdk lever area) in leather

I love the wheels youve choosen. GL!

If I remember correctly Turbo S only comes in PDK, no 6 speed is available as an option. Correct me if I'm wrong. I dont use an ipod so didnt look for that option. Leather in center console is a good option but since didnt order anything else in leather thought that might look out of place.

    Specialty is Critical Care Medicine.

Pick up the car at the factory, you'll get the tour, lunch in the restaurant and explore the museum. THEN get some miles on the car by heading upto the RING - and enjoy blasting around. Local Hotel Am Tiergaten - great place excellent restaurant and close to the track.... check your dates though....

WOW! You picked a heck of a 911 for a first drive. This is a STUPID fast car so tread lightly on the right pedal until you get used to the power. Congrats and hope to see it around Dallas when you get it.

Thanks nick, bbs, pearson for the compliments. I plan to post pics when I get the car sometime in late march/early april. I will check with the dealership on the delivery otion in Germany. Weather should be ok by that time im assuming. One thing i need to figure out is whats the break in period specifies as far as rpm and speed. Im kinda used to that acceleration as i currently own a scuderia and a california but this car is supposed to be a few tenths faster than the scud!!

Too bad. I inquired about European delivery and was told that since my delivery date was so close I wouldnt be able to do a european delivery. I'm getting itchy fingers waiting on the 911 Turbo S and Cayenne S coming very close to each other end march/early april :)

It's my daily driver. White with white and black interior.

Be careful when driving with the nannies off. Don't nail the throttle unless you are pointed straight.

It's a great daily driver, stereo could be a little better, however.

    This is a fantastic car.

My new Boxster S has a 2,000 mi break-in period. refrain from taking the revs over 4,200 rpm and vary the revs as much as possible. driving around town is perfect. I assume your car is the same. Check your manual or ask your salesman to give you a heads up.

The last Turbo cab I drove was 4wd and I assume this car is also. Hang on cus it is a cornering monster. You are going to have so much fun that you may have to get plastic surgery to wipe that smile off your face. Enjoy. ;)

Anyone know what the break in limits are for the 2011 Turbo S? My cars build date was March 7 and according to dealer should be here in the first two weeks of April!

    Google turned up this.

    http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/997-forum/497584-997-2-dfi-engine-break-in-period-procedure.html

Looks like it's 4200 revs max for first 2000 miles.

I would call your dealer to make sure. It's in the manual as well.

Please note you are going to need a huge amount of self discipline to do this. Our solution is to try and take some scenic trips to get those miles off as fast as possible. We have had the car 3 weeks and have only a little over 500 mi. :(

2000 miles???? Thats a long break in period to go below 4200 RPM. I dont think I will be able to hold myself for so long. That sucks. i dont recall my Scuderia or California having break in period nor my Gallardo formerly.

After today's trip to Reudi Reservoir 700 miles.

Saw some Big Horn Sheep. It was a beautiful sunny day 61F with the top down. Ate lunch in Basalt (19 miles from Aspen: 6200 ft. above sea level) which was delicious. the roads were dry. and tomorrow looks like another great day. Life is good.

Some differing views (including mine) in this thread:

    http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/997-turbo-forum/620536-very-hard-keeping-it-under-revs.html

Although I'm a firm believer in varying the revs during run-in, I don't think the occasional full throttle blast won't hurt her.
