Although I orignally joined because of my Ferrari, I fell in love with the Maserati. A higher power instructed me to find and purchase one, so I did. Flew down to Alabama and drove it back this past weekend. Great car! I'm sure I'll have many questions about the car in the near future.

Congratulations on the new Maserati. And, you did it the right way...driving it back home to spend some quality time. Enjoy it!

Thanks, I have several cars and I try to drive them like that. Seems to eliminate some problems or find them rather quickly! So far, so good with this one.

Very Nice Congrats!. Like the color, very classy. I always wonder if it's better to Buy & Drive or to Ship and Test. Being a newer car versus the old classics that I tend to buy it makes it a little easier decision. I'm in the buying mode myself and I like the idea of a cross country adventure with a new toy and preferably I would take along a compact fly rod and make it even more.

Enjoy. And what do you think of the spyder versus ??Ferrari??? Performance and overall drive experience?

The list of my current collection is bellow this post. The only comparison I have is my 80 308 GTSI. The better comparison is my Mercedes SL600. The Maserati is much rougher ride in sport mode, but what a frickin ride! Great car, but I don't see it as a daily driver in city traffic while the SL600 is. The Spyder is a very aggresive car and will be much fun on the weekends. It's a true thrill to drive! I'll post a more detailed review in a couple of weeks.

    99 Mercedes ML320
    94 Mercedes SL600

    87 Mercedes 560SEC
    86 Mercedes 300SDL Grease Car

It's unusal to see a tan top. Very nice looking indeed. I've had mine since 2002 and it's been near bullet proof. I have 18K on the clock now and it still runs like new. Is it Cambiocorsa or manual? The Maserati Spyder is certainly under rated for no good reason. They are really great machines. Enjoy!

It's a Cambiocorsa. That's what I wanted. I love the paddle shift! That brings me to my first question about this beast: There's a led light on the steering column that blinks red slowly, then quickly and then turns green. I looked in the manual and couldn't find any info. Any ideas?

    Educate me.

Cambiocorso I assume is paddel shifters and I see that they may have also offered a manuel transmission. Is this true and is it a shift gate style on the center collum?

That was my first thought, but it blinks red to green while I'm driving. Someone else suggested that it maybe an aftermarket radar detector. I checked and can't find any sensors for it.

Is it a foggy little light in the gauge cluster? Once you lock the car it should blink red while the car is locked.

    Picture?

I had some time to look at the blinking red/green light on the steering column. It is indeed a radar detector! I found a small button also on the column that seems to adjust the sensitivity. It now talks to me when I turn the car on, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what it's saying!
