When I used to read owner's writing about their brand new 430's, I said to myself "This is my 5th Ferrari and I'm not going to write about my new purchase, these people are just blowing their horn".

Well, I've just picked my Silverstone 430 F1 Spider at my dealer, drove 125 Miles back to my country home and I'm totally blown away. The car is magnificent. I've never had a driving experience that come close to this car.

Acceleration and handling like a Racecar. Smoothness like a luxury car. Fit and Finish is awesome. The 2 year wait was worth every minute. Even the additional month after my airfreight order was overlooked doesn't matter now.

    I know I'm babbling, I just can't help it.

I've been too busy drivng the car to take pictures, but I will take them soon and post.

I didn't order navigation, but got bluetooth integrated with the radio. The Bluetooth pairs easily and works well.

Is the only thing missing from Navigation the CF (Compact Flash) card with the Nav software and maps? Do I just have to buy the CF card to get Nav to work? Is a GPS antenna installed in all cars?

If I replace the Radio with the Eclipse AVN7000 I guess bluetooth is disabled.

I believe you will have to add the GPS antenna.

It goes in the dash behind the speedo.

Your photo composition, planned or not, with XK120 in background is utterly superb.

I grew up in a little town in Kansas (Dorthy, Toto, The Wizard), circa 1952. No one had ever seen a sports car. A black XK120 parked in the middle of the town square for an hour and it drew a huge crowd and was photographed for the local newspaper. I've never gotten over the beauty of an XK120. I still drool when I see one.

I owned a new 356 in 1961 when based in Germany. I see you have great taste in old cars.

A photo of your "fleet" would be great when you come down off the ceiling.

I'm pleased to read of your enthusiasm. My 430 spider is due in Jan 2007. I've not ridden in a 430, but all reports are encouraging.

Thanks for noticing the XK120. There's probably nothing more beautiful in auto design as the line of the XK120's front fender.

I've been feeling guilty not driving it as I'm so enamored with the F430.

It's nice being able to drive the state of the art sports car of 1954, and then drive today's state of the art, the 430. Both represent great driving experiences.

Wait until you wash it. It will be equally as pleasurable. I have a F1 coupe with the same exterior color but with a tan interior and CF. I have the same feeling when washing it as driving it. However, when I wash it I can see it for all its beautiful lines and design. It is truly an Italian work of art. Enjoy yours.

Yes they are the ball polished rims. Look great, not as bling as mirror polished or chromed, but gives the wheels a better look imo.

I've had the car for 5 days and I'm still speechless over it's capabilities which I've probably tapped about 25% of.

Still have 150 miles for break in period, but road holding, ride, acceleration are in a league of their own.

Those first 600+ miles cannot come fast enough. After that, the odometer seems like it clocks 2 miles for every mile driven.

Looks absolutely beautiful - that's one of the best colour combos I've seen. Love the rosso interior!
