Need help figuring out how to put in the obd2 connector and what wires go to it. I have looked everywhere in the lh lower area in and around the "obd2 removable cover. I found a bundle of wires maybe 20, some twisted pairs that were terminated with an open splice. I am not able to register the car after my temp plates as my county does emissions inspection requiring obd2 read thru the state system.
I will be contacting the selling dealer but not holding my breath- they are out of state.

Correct. That grey box with the fuse panel attached to it is the Body ecu, and has the OBD connector integral to it. Its kinda tucked away in there.

That built in connector is not the common shape with a wide "top" and narrower "bottom- less pins" is there a common adapter? I was not aware there was another type. I searched and found a 12 pin style. is the 12 pin style what is normally installed?

any idea what the wire bundle is for?

100% the built in connector is the standard OBD plug. No adapter needed.

The wiring bundle hanging out there is an odd one; definitely doesn't look factory. Are there invoices in your history file for a wiring repair or some modification someone might have made at one point?

The connectors in your photo show most are female "bullet" connectors. They are typically used when you want the ability to remove certain connections or alter the connections of another connector or in this case the OBD II plug. The male end of that connector would have been attached to the other connector by a short wire that went into the plug pin. Might have been a way for them to trick / pass the computer in the case of emissions checks in other states. I noticed the interior seems to be blue ... Was this a car dealer in MA? Good luck regardless .....

Well- I had tried my code reader in that socket shown but I did not get it to fit. The shape was not what I normally see. I figured it had to be somewhere else. Bottom line I tried again and finally did get obd2 to connect. Sorry.
The bundle of wire I think is related to a k40 radar detector installation!
Thanks everyone for your time and input.

Good stuff. I was thinking along the lines of a radar detector, but there just seemed far too many wires?

yes, bought from High Octane, shipped to Colorado. I personally like the blue interior although probably not often selected.

I love the different color combos on these cars, the silver and blue must be stunning in person!
