    They are releasing that they have ended this show after 10 years, without too much
    comment on "why".

    They say there will continue to make Essence of Emeril, and do an occasional special.

    They also say that they will, naturally, show reruns at all hours of the day & night.

    I may be stoned for saying it, but to me it is the best little bit of programming news since
    the demise of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" and "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman".

    Now if they would only review "Orange County Chopper Bike Builders"...

    I heard that both the Dog and Hulk Hogan are kind of between jobs right now - think there might be a business opportunity here for some smart network executive?

    You mean a show where Dog catches the bad guy, Emeril cooks him a "last meal" before a throw-down with Hulk Hogan? Might be some potential there!

    Yeah, the show's not what it used to be. I imagine they lost viewers in the move from Discovery to TLC, plus their top mechanic left OCC and is opening his own shop down the road. American Chopper is up for syndication in Fall 2008 so look for them on your local stations starting in September.

    I use to watch Emeril Live fairly regularly in college. But I prefer Bobby Flay's shows and Tyler whatever as well. They cook some damn good food.

    Now I don't enjoy Emerils shows as much as seeing Giada Delaurentiis or Sandra Lee or Simply Dilicioso. Now those shows have TWO reasons to watch. ;)

    Seriously though, sounds to me like Emeril is going to be working more behind the scenes in helping to produce other new shows.
