Musk has had many failures, and many successes.

What are your list or successes and failures?

I didn't start it (and I got called out by name), and no one invited anunakki to the party. ;)

Problem here is that Tesla is way behind on autonomy, and they aren't improving nearly fast enough or as fast as their competitors. Go 'drive' a recent Tesla running the latest software and actually see how well it works. Don't just watch the videos. It is so far away from actually being full-self driving. I used it a few weeks ago on my S, it can't make left turns, it can't merge, it can't even get in the proper lane. That's the basic stuff. Beyond that it can't deal with complex intersections (like circles) it can't deal with road debris, it can't deal with animals (like geese) crossing the road. Musk said it will be able to drive coast to coast autonomously in ... 2016!!!. Its so, so far away from that. It is getting better, but very very slowly. Meanwhile Waymo already has driverless taxis in commercial service.

Tesla also has the massive liability hanging out there of the fact that they sold hundreds of thousands of cars with the promise that they had all the hardware needed for full self driving. It is obvious at this point that there are going to be some serious upgrades to the hardware required on all of those cars.

You clearly aren't doing any research if you think your little test drive is representative of the current state of FSD. Thanks for espousing this uninformed opinion as this helps to falsely & temporarily suppress the stock so that others can make for a cheaper entry price. I hope you chime back in on this thread when Tesla initiates unsupervised FSD next year or the year after. It's coming soon. And no one else is anywhere close. Geofenced Auto Drive does not count.

Tesla is such an easy investment. You could have made plenty off it over the years to where you’d be able to lobby against him for decades in a meaningful way but you missed it. Accept it, move on. Reminds me of those who are all mad about BTC still.

Do you actually have a Tesla? Do you drive it on FSD on a daily basis? Doesn't sound like it. My 'uniformed opinion' is based on actual usage, in the real world. Just this morning mine tried to merge into a trailer on the highway.

Like I said, its been coming soon since 2016. And it will still be coming soon in 2030. Just like the '2020' roadster. Alot easier to expand a geofence, then to fix a fatally flawed system.

And full disclosure, I've owned Teslas since 2014, and been a shareholder since before that. Only difference is that I've been selling my TSLA to buy a Ferrari rather than the other way around.

Welcome to the party, uninvited guest. AFAIK, I've never made a post about Tesla's (random) stock price. I'll "move on" when Tesla stops receiving other people's tax money and carbon credit welfare.

Are you on an older version of FSD like 11 or 12? I have V12 in my daily driver and it is lightyears better than you describe. Since you watch Youtube you should know that v13 is out and it is insanely good. Extrapolating your very limited FSD experience does not give a clear picture as to the status of FSD. I'm glad you are smart enough to invest into the stock and that's awesome that you have profited enough to buy a beautiful car. But to doubt Elon's ability to deliver is foolish. He ALWAYS delivers......he's just always tardy. Mark my words - unsupervised FSD coming in 2025.

Frankly, I have never understood this thread. I don't consider a Ferrari or any other sports car an investment. Stocks, on the other hand, are investments. I can't drive a stock. The decision to buy or sell Tesla or any other stock is dynamic. The decision to buy or sell a sports car is a First-World emotional problem.

This thread makes no sense. No different from saying I sold my Ferrari to buy Apple or bitcoin, or invest in real estate. Ferrari ownership is almost always a poor financial decision, but this forum is full of people that do it because it is an amazing experience. Much more fun than watching a stock ticker go by

As an aside, I am also skeptical of fsd. Autopilot on my Tesla has done some weird stuff, like accelerating unexpectedly on sharp exits, which is unnerving. Otherwise it’s a great car, solid, and exceeded my expectations , but it’s just transportation in the end. I let it go this year since I had stopped driving it. Life is too short to drive boring cars.

You will lose that bet as Elon announced unsupervised FSD goes live in Austin in June followed by rolling it out to the rest of the country by year's end and rest of the world in 2026 as allowed by regulators. Once it goes live in Austin and it doesn't kill anyone EVERY other regulator in the world will be forced to approve it because it saves lives.

BTW a side note - there will be THOUSANDS of humanoid robots doing real work in the Austin Tesla car factory by year's end.

This is the problem with anything below true Level 5 -- the better it gets = the less often an intervention is needed = humans are not good at doing nothing for a long, long time and then instantly doing something = you crash when an intervention event occurs.
