I have been browsing FerrariChat for awhile now while planning my purchase and am amazed at how active and friendly these boards are. After waiting a lifetime I am finally getting into my first Ferrari --- today I hope --- a '06 F430 F1 Spider (dealer photos attached.)

I am a long-time Porsche owner --- got my first 914 in San Diego in 2012 --- and have a '12 911 991 Carrera S as a "daily driver" plus a '13 Cayenne S in the driveway for the wife and kids.

I admit being a little nervous owning a Ferrari in Portland, Oregon given that it's not really a "car" town in my experience --- am I wrong? I hope to start going to Cascade Cars & Coffee on Saturdays but am interested to hear if there are other Ferrari owners locally and, if so, where they gather.

Don't be (nervous), and yeah, you are "wrong" ;)

Only thing that keeps the owners suppressed is the weather......but, you are going to be astonished at how many cars there are in Portland area :)

    Cool!

Just make sure you have the front plate actually affixed to the car if you plan
on parking in downtown Portland. Please don't take this lightly and do whatever
searches necessary.... they do NOT **** around with that in downtown Portland

    Nice car!!

Jedi, thanks and noted. I have a 911 991 as well and no plates on the front because WTF would anyone mar the natural curves of a Porsche or Ferrari with license plates. This decision has, sadly, cost me $$$ over the years and so I have learned to Smart Park or not park at all.

That said, it's pretty unlikely I will every take the F430 downtown Portland. Does not seem like much of a "city car" ...

That's the best possible color combo in my opinion. Black with red stitching really puts it over the top (in a good way).

Roadracer ... agree! I looked at a Black/black in Portland (Tonkin), a Gray/black, a red/tan, and then saw the red/black and immediately fell in love. Of course, it has been in the shop since it was delivered getting the prerequisite Escort 9500 ci and a bluetooth/iphone integration custom job ... but it is due back tomorrow and the sun is supposed to shine!

    Watch out Rose City ...

I'll post more pics when I have the car back.
