If you're referring to Billy Moss' car, I suspect you need to read some of the other threads. Started out to be some fun, but the threads got closed.

The Orange Diablo in Austin is a real GT. It is one of the few real GTs in the country.

No im not refering to that car. People in those threads just made it sound as though there are no real GTs in Texas and I have been told otherwise.

PS...Texas will always be greater/better/etc. etc. than California

He is referring to a different orange Diablo that is in Austin--not Dallas.

    It is the real deal.

I won't mention who it is, however, he does have a screen name on FChat. Although he rarely posts.

I've met his youngest son a few times. Truly nice kid.

I've seen this one down here in the Galleria many years ago and the owner was parking it in front of the Westin. It sounded so mean.

There is indeed an authentic, and street legal, GT here in Texas. It spent a fair bit of time here in Houston, belonging to a councilman. Not sure if he still owns it but it is spectacular.

Yep. When my friend went to UT he saw it parked at the Capitol quite often. People apparently called into radio shows about it as well.

Yes, as I have said many times before, it is totally real. I've had a few convesations with the owner and he's a really cool guy. Yes, he was a polotician and he's an attorney. He's also a member on FChat and has talked about his GT in the Lambo section.

Please view the photos that I took of his car and tell me if that looks like a normal Diablo engine to you. http://public.fotki.com/TexasMike/automotive-1/automotive/lamborghini/diablo_gt/

And just to add some info for clarification. We have 1 real Diablo GT in Austin and we also have a Diablo SV with a GT kit. The real GT is orange and the SV with the kit is yellow.

    Depends. Do you consider Roland's F40LM authentic? I don't.

Ron, what cars do you own? Sounds like you know your stuff and have a deep knowledge of the
    ferrari's.

After seeing the wing on the GT up close I can see why Alex used the full carbon wing from the GTR on his.
Much more radical looking. The GT wing looks like a standard SV wing. It looks like a different car from
behind which was the intent for a one off.

Billy, not sure how much Robert knows about Diablo's, but I can attest he knows more about cars and especially Ferraris than 99% on Ferrari Chat and that says alot. Quick funny story earlier this year we were invited to a SAE presentation at Bell Helicopter by Dave McLellan (chief Corvette engineer from 1975-1992) over a trip Dave just had to tour the Ferrari factory. The room was full of about 80 engineers and 15-20 of us from Ferrari Chat. Dave had a slide presentation of the Ferrari factory and a concours he went to. Dave didn't know half the cars he was showing, but he was appreciative as an engineer himself and talking about the design aspects. He came to a very early one off vintage Ferrari (there were hundreds) and asked the audience if anyone knew what it was. Some guy pipes up down the aisle from me and rattles off some long year and model designation. I vocally commented to those next to me "who is full of B.S., no way anyone here knows that". Well, I found out later that was Robert and he had nailed exactly the identification. :)

Pretty amazing. Dave was out at Bloomington Gold this year. It was a couple of weeks ago in St, Charles.
    Super guy.
