Last week I replaced all my spark plugs as when slow cruising in either 4th of 5th gear, my baby tended to knock a bit.

After replacing plugs I added an injector cleansing mixture to the fuel so as to clean injectors too. Reason being that I don't use car a lot, and fuel in Malta isn't of the highest quality too.

Well, I took my baby for a ride, and man did she run!!! (avoiding speed cameras too).

However returning home, I engine braked the car and heard like a faint whinning noise, followed by a bit of white smoke. Oil pressure and temperatures all showed normal so I continued the 5 minute drive home. Looking at engine I could not locate oil leaks but the following day found clean transperant oil mixed with black dime sized drops.

Could it be I blew an oil seal or gasket.? To replace such the engine has to come out?

Well tomorrow going to mechanic, but preparing myself.

The way you describe it does not sound related. (the white smoke& whine with the leak) The clean oil with black drops suggests that you have a fresh leak somewhere that is dragging old oil/dirt with it. It will be interesting to see what your mechanic says.....keep us posted.

Just came from mechanic. Oil leak is from foward top cover gasket, which in turn drips onto the exhaust manifold.

Re whinning noise, he suspects that it is coming from the differential shims since I hear a similar noise when going around round abouts or cornering even at slow speeds. I looked at eurospares site and got to the differential diagram. I cannot seem to find a part number for the shims. Any help.?

    Thanks,
    Stephen
