I just took a 2015 F12 for a test drive.... As I mentioned in my previous thread, I got my FF last May. I am enjoying it to the Max, and I was looking for my 2nd F to be more sporty... I am not complaining about the FF at all but I just wanted another sporty car...

Back to the F12, I was reluctant to test drive it... Because I thought it will be a little bit similar to the FF.... But wow..... It's totally different.... Extremely Extremly ffast, powerful and for sure so fun to drive

So the dealer told me that the 2016 will be the last year for the F12, he suggested either I get an F12 now, or order a 488 to be deliverd next year (March)

I was really amazed w the F12 ..... What an amaizing car... Adding it to the FF I hv will be great

Do you know how to tell if a car salesman is lying?

    He's talking.

Seeing that the FF will most likely be replaced in 2016, no, the F12 will not. He's trying to make you buy a car. The F12 replacement will most likely debut in Geneva 2017, and the production will continue at least until the summer holiday.

Do you have other dealers in your area? I wouldn't personally do business with someone who try to give me the run-a-round, especially with something of this nature.

Ask him what is in it for you if you buy a car now, and the F12 is not replaced in 2016. I'd love to hear that answer.

I heard there will be a face-lift for the 2016/2017 FF but after that they will be swapping engines from V12 to V8 Twin Turbo. The F12 still has some time before any "face lift" or replacement comes out. There is a F12 "Speciale" coming out soon but its part of their limited series cars and almost impossible to get allocation.

I say get the F12 for sure. I'm bias because I have a F12. Had a 599 before the F12 and its really feels decades ahead with the new gearbox and brakes.

F12 is incredible. You won't see a replacement on the street until end of 2017 as a 2018 model. They will probably show it early that year (my guess: 03/2017).

But make that decision based on the fact that you are buying a car which will be replaced in no more than 2 years from now...

I couldn't agree more. It's too soon for the F12 to be replaced. If you search hard enough, you may be able to find a new (off the boat untitled new) F12 or even get your own allocation if you are willing to wait a little. I despise salesmen that pull this crap (which is most of them). I could tell you stories of the lies I have been told at Ferrari dealers even. They should hold themselves to a higher standard considering their high-end products.

Some salesmen still think Internet doesn't exist and we live in mid 80s.

Agreed..... I know that he was bluffing when he said that the F12 will be replaced next year, I just ignored his comment and enjoyed the test drive.... I really enjoyed the F12.... Do u think its ok to have both the FF and the F12 ? I believe both are amaizing and different ... Or is it better to keep the FF and get the 488 or 488 spider instead of the F12

I would have both, the FF and F12 if I could.

An 488 is just another Sports car and is in direct competition to all the McL etc. which the F12 is NOT.

    Jordan68,

Most on this board already know that the last publically released production policy is that the current F12 runs from MY2013 through MY2016. Then the F12M will be from MY2017 through MY2020. After that is the full replacement. There is also a very special edition slated for the last model year of the F12 series.

The F12M is the non-PF design (not as desirable to me for that reason - to each his own). The F12VS or Limited or GTO or Special is being produced now and will run for a year. If you didn't hear about the F12VS by now then you are not getting one. So, the salesman is correct in only the sense that the F12 as we know it will change in MY 2017. Look for the usual in-house sharper edges and the addition of flaps or gills.

You are not alone in your comments about the current F12. What an accomplishment it is and such a beast to own and drive.

    -Good luck

So I'm guessing there will be a hgte type option for next year's f12s? Is the F12M a replacement like the 488 to the 458 or is it just an update?

Whether or not there will some kind of "update" for the current F12, idk. But the F12 "Modificante" is to the F12 what the 488 is to the 458, or the 575 was to the 550 etc. It's a new model based on the same basic platform so to speak.

I don't think theres anything wrong with having the FF and F12. It just says you like front-mid engine V12 Ferraris. Is there something wrong with that? No way. Its like Oscar Wilde said: I have simple tastes, I am always satisfied with the best. :)

(Just keep in mind the V12 models usually depreciate more than their V8 brethren)
