My GTS is here. Absolutely gorgeous and in love all over again. Will post photos and review when I get some time for that.

So I was just going over the car, a dusting/minor detail when I noticed the fender liners. I don't recall this on my SF, but the liners in the wheel arch interior are a hard fabric, sort of a molded outdoor carpet like material. Say what? Yeah, like don't drive in wet or rain or mud or snow because all that spatter coming off your tires filled with road grime is sure to get caught up in there.

I thought the superfast wheel arches had a less porous surface, like the sound deadening material under the hood? At least that looks somewhat cleanable.

Okay all my Ferrari brethren, why would Ferrari use such a porous material here? It's certain to accumulate grime.

Thanks, helpful for sure. Seems an odd area to save cost. I did appreciate the post from conformgroup.
I just don't understand how these don't load up with dirt over time, even from dry roads. Maybe they're designed to be replaced every once in a while.

My 2011 FF has these wheel arch liners so they’ve been a feature for a while…

I think they’re there to reduce NVH and they do collect crud but it’s easy enough to jet wash it out.

I don't get the use of it. It seems completely random.

Itvis used on the FF but not the Lusso. It is used on the Pista coupè but not the Pista Spider. It is used on neither of the regular 488's. It is used on the F8 coupè but not the spider. It is used on the 812 GTS but not the SF.

There is no pattern. It is used in a lightweight car which does not need it, but then not used in a cruiser which could benefit from it. Total mess.

That being said, I don't care one way or the other. It is easy to keep clean.

I have them on my Lusso. They “trap” leaves and other crap and are easy to keep clean. not a big deal in my mind.

Same liners as my '13 F12. They attract leaves but wash off well with just hose and a little soap but I don't drive in rain or dirty roads. I believe the carpet-like material is just for road sound. Ferrari likely considers all aspects of sound within the cabin and then specs the liner material. Maybe also consider supplier stock and cost if sound can go either way. If folks out there have a non-carpet liner please post photo for comparison. Thanks.
