Just wondering, Are Ferrari owners usually willing to give a ride to a fellow enthusiast? I often go to the San Antonio Ferrari meets and owners are generally willing to let me sit in their cars but i have always be nervous about asking for maybe a short ride around the block or something. I have always wanted a ride in one of these marvolus machines ( as I am a huge Ferrari enthusiast ) but don't know how I would have the opportunity to unless I ask. I plan to get me a 348ts someday but would really appreciate to be able to ride in one before that time comes ( as it will probably be way in the future! ) Any responses would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks alot, Todd
It never hurts to ask, and many of us not only don't mind, but enjoy sharing the experience in the same way someone once shared with us.
Thanks! Next time ill be sure to ask. I saw on your profile that you had a 512BBi. I saw a red one on Broadway and 410 about two weeks ago. Maybe it was yours? Anyways it looked fantastic!! Thanks again for your reply.
Of the SA folks I've met, they've all seemed to be great! I'm just a little more reserved and will wait until an offer comes...Though, I've been too dang busy lately to attend another meet.
I'm hoping to make it to this weeks meet. Its been a little while since ive made it to one. I've always enjoyed going to them.
Well if he attends the events already then I'm wondering why I don't know him already. Our club is pretty friendly to the people who do get invited and if he wants a spin around the block, I'm sure I could make it happen. If you come to the events and don't introduce yourself to anyone, then I doubt anyone will offer you a ride. Tillman, the SAPD aren't the most friendly folks. We have a reason why we try to keep it secret.
Yes, My uncle has a 86' 328gts(Euro Model). Unfortunatly, he doesn't live in the San Antonio area so i don't get to come to the meets in a Ferrari.
Well I don't seem to remember you from any of the gethering but like John said, just network with people. If I had a Ferrari I would be the first one to offer you a ride.
You can ask indirectly to make it more 'comfortable' for the owner. Make a comment like "I've never been for a ride in a Ferrari" or "If any of you guys ever want to take someone for their first ride, I've available." That way you don't put someone on the spot to feel obligated to say yes, but you let it be known that it's something you'd like to do. I've taken a few people for their first ride, one of them even went out and bought a car like mine a few months later!
Living the LA lifestyle! Spending them G's pimpin them....nooo. Its going great. I love it out here. Hope all is well! So your uncle has never given you a ride?
I was able to catch a ride in Ro's Gallardo Thanksgiving morn. That was one incredible ride. Definetely going down as one as the most memorable rides I have been on. A friend got to ride down the track not too long ago with him. I was actually joking when I said I had shotgun but it happend. Super nice guy, like a lot of the people I have met here. Most people think that guys and gals that own Ferraris or Lambos are just arrogent stuck up *********s but they're really not. Atleast none of the people I have met/hung out with are like that. Its like Patsy said(at that happy hour I met her at) "Don't ever be afraid to ask, most of the time they'll say yes."(something like that anyway) So I asked if I could drive her car....she said no. LOL She also said sometimes they'll say no. LOL
Yeah...that was fun! I'm a friendly and nice guy. As long as people are nice to me, I'm nice to them back. I'm never arrogant, sometimes obnoxious like Jason's license plate says on his 348 though...what can I say, I drive around in bright yellow car! By the way, MobileJay, we need to schedule that detailing on the Benzo. It's so nasty but then again, so has the weather.
Sorry, Todd, but mine's a rare non-red or black one - it's one of the few white ones, with no Boxer trim. It's not been down to SA yet, but that's probably just a matter of time.
