Continuing on the theme of justifying the Cali. I traded an '07 F430 last January for it. I very infrequently miss it. Additionally one of the cars you listed was the R8. I had a chance to do the 2-day Audi R8 driving school at Infineon raceway (formerly Sears Point) in Sonoma a few weeks ago. It was fabulous and i'd recommend it to anyone. A LOT of time on the track. As much fun as it was pushing around an R8 on a very technical track, I still longed to get back in my Cali. The lead instructor also mentioned that the Cali can hold it's own with an R8 on that track just fine.

Speaking of engineering and borrowing parts, I heard that one from a guy that works at my dealer and I have no idea if he's bull****ting or not, he said that the retractable roof was made in Germany, and according to him that's why it works flawlessly and efficiently.
If any of you guys can confirm that would be great...

I am one of those brand name guys, call it shallow or whatever you wish. I want something that makes me smile upon placing right foot to metal. I have owned almost every other car mentioned. Jumping in the Ferrari makes me happy, who cares what parts are from what company in what part of the country. You see cadillac ads of them test driving in Germany and so on. Every manufacture has to raise their bar, Ferrari is the pinnacle and has the gene pool to prove it.

In other words when you consider a wife, I suggest meeting her parents first.

Congrats on the impulse buy, that is exactly what Ferrari counts on!

get the ipod integration--it's the best in the business. i particularly like that the name of artist, song and album are displayed on the nav screen. i know no other car that does this.

get the ipod option -- you won't be sorry.

i would give more thought to the color...red is such cop bait...and the cali is soooo fast![/QUOTE]

I, for one, really like to jam in my Cali. The i-pod connection is key because I can listen to what I want and like. The variety of XM is nice to have too. The only better i-pod integration (IMO) is in the Panamera.

I have seen Grigio Nuvolare on a 599. I is a stunning color. It would look great on the Cali.

Don´t worry, I´ll try to fix it.

It´s not the same: Ferrari is owned by FIAT, but they do design and build their own cars and had quite a lot of authonomy, as they don´t belong to FIAT Auto, but to FIAT holding, just like many other companies of FIAT that don´t do anything related to car industry.

Lamborghinis are designed by people of Audi, and the final assembly of the Gallardos is made at an Audi factory. Rolls Royce are built in Germany, they only do the final assembly in Britain. And no so lot ago the Aston Martin Vanquish used an V12 engine made of two Ford V6. Porsches thankfully have not many VW parts, apart from the Cayenne, but we are talking about cars, not trucks, so who cares?

My ex ride 997 PDK had to me a better head unit. The Ipod integration was perfect. So I hope I won't miss it when my California comes.
