Uh, I agree a Ferrari motor is more valuable..and in the case of the Accord motor, the Ferrari motor is higher reving and higher in performance, but "close tolerance"? I would argue that Honda motors must have some pretty close tolerances to take the abuse I gave my Accord for those 160k+ miles! And with 6k mile oil change intervals, it never needed more than .5 quart added between changes. Simply amazing...and with a air filter that some here think is not much better than a window screen! ;)

The oil doesn´t affect the engine. But it will effect the correct reading of your MFS. And that is really bad.

But the oil will only leave the filter if it is not properly applied.

I suspect that a Honda engine has much closer tolerances than anything built by Ferrari...or any other Italian company for that matter.

its a heck of a lot easier to get the K & N filter in than the stock UFI...K & N is more flexible and doesn't have the aluminum support. On a carb 308 replacement with UFI requires undoing the bolts on one side of the engine lid and sneaking out the filter..then you have to make sure you are aligned. K & N wiggles right in without messing with the deck lid...plus you never have to buy a filter again...just clean it...so it may not do anything performance wise...but it makes servicing a lot easier.
