    Hey gang!

Sunday morning, and it seems that the SE part of the state is in pretty tough shape, Independence, KS is where Valeria's Mom lives, it appears the Verdigras just crested about.....oh.....15 feet over the roof of her house! WTF????

She is safe here with us, In Houston, for medical treatment.

A group of her friends, and old school chums of Valeria's, made a panic attempt to empty her house yesterday as the floods entered but didn't get it all..A shame, as they had just put new appliances in for her..

So, is anyone on the ground in that area or maybe watching any news? Links appreciated....

And if you see a Sears over and under washer/dryer floating down the road......snag it, it's mine! LOL!

Not that funny ...but ya gotta keep your cool in these Big Storm situations, humor helps! :D

    Thanks in advance...
    Alan

Wichita's wet, but not as bad as points further east (such as Independence). Here's a link to a story in the Wichita Eagle, although it doesn't have specific details on Independence.

    Hi Alan,

Other than the incessant steady down pouring since Thursday, it hasn't been too bad for most of the KC Metro as in some of the cities two hours south of here and for that we are thanksful. We actually had been a little dried so this little drink has been good for the grass.

The only drawback was I dropped my Porsche Turbo off for details on Wed....and the road hasn't been dried enough to take it home. All n all, no calamity. Our thoughts and prayers are w/ the folks in Fredonia, KS whose homes are 3 to 5 feet under water.....Thanks for checking in, Alan.
