    Scottie,
I understand your frustration, BUT you should NOT let one bonehead employee ruin your/our fun. You should bring it up with Bill (one of the partners and see if he can make it fair and RIGHT). That is only my opinion.

I did bring it up with Bill - twice

Once that day when I left him my membership card and a note (telling him what he could do with it)

Later, when they kept sending me emails - when I wrote a long message explaining my feelings - and asking them to address my concerns, or stop emailing me.

Bill has NEVER once tried to contact me, tried to explain, listened to my side, or to tried to work things out.

@#$@#$@#$ Bill, #$!#$!@#$ the @#$!@#$!@#$ british ****** that he has working for him, and #@$%$%^#$ Xtreme. I wouldn't pee on them if they were on fire.

They can all kiss my big fat fanny and will NEVER see another dollar from my wallet. I hope they go out of business - right after losing every penny that they have and can borrow.

    BOYCOTT!!!!!!!!!

    Scottie

It's also 3 hrs away in the middle of the week. :p

If it weren't then I'd go. We'll have to plan another Saturday karting event... and I'll actually try to make it on time so I can be an active participant rather than a coat rack. :D :p

Why don't you start racing at Moroso instead. A real track with real karts instead of the toy karts at Xtreme.

I go if Scotty is going :D

unfortunately I have to agree with Scotty here. Their attitude has strongly fell down with them getting busy and I will not beg to spend $30 every two weeks for carts that have gone from equal to crap.

You mess with my brother, you mess with me. Always has been my attitude to the world.
...so if they are on fire my zipper stays shut as well....!

I don't know Robert, Scottie and Martin have legit points, what do you say? And where does Andy stand on this, Andy where are you? I'm leaning toward Scottin and Martie, I mean Scottie and Martin. One too many Diet Pepsi's this evening. I started the boycott party early. :)

Bill i do not disagree with scottie. HOWEVER unless he can provide us with karts and we can race up and down his hood. or come up with an alternate solution. i am not willing to give up the karting track. also i spoke to andy and he will be there. it is not saying - ok i will purchase puma and no more nike. nothing personal scottie. but those 20 minutes or so to leave work and other issues behind me is my escape from the day to day grind. Moroso is to far and is a day event. but i would be willing to go at nught and during the week instead of xtreme.

sorry if there are mispelled words etc. i am using my pda device.

I got a feeling that once I get my 300 pounds on the go cart it will barely move. Its hard being gravity challenged! (some would say fat)

Maybe we can gang up on Bill at Extreme and get some results and/or compensation for Scottie, we give him enough business. I don't want to give up karting but Bill needs to show a little professionalism and some good business sense. He's worked with us before. Besides I don't want to mess up the paint on the hood of the Mini Monster!

If you allow them to take this attitude with one guy, where will it stop? You are kissing their rear ends by continually going there. I would suggest either find another Tuesday night outlet for your aggression or gang up on what appears to be a real jerk manager. You and Andy need to really get on the guy's case to the point of threatening not to return. I have a feeling you will find out he really is a jerk who thinks he has you by the go kart balls and will not care how you feel. I hope I am wrong, but I also think you are wrong to keep going back there until their attitude changes.

As a spectator, from day one I found the place to not be customer friendly. I say burn 'em.

I have read all points that have been made (in each thread) and understand why people are disappointed with Xtreme and the owner, however, karting is supposed to be fun. Unfortunately, sometimes there are certain things and/or people that spoil the fun, but it's best just to move forward and continue to have good times with friends.

I suppose it would be hard to cave after all of the drama, but it really isn't worth holding a grudge. It's a go kart track and arcade.. c'mon guys. :D

Would you go to a lounge knowing that the bartender would be rude? Or would you go somewhere else? Its the principle. I personally prefer a business that knows the meaning of the word customer service.

I'd just go to a different bartender, that's all.

I guess the equivalent for me would be visitng my favorite store, encountering a rude sales associate, and noticing the clothes aren't as well made as they had been in the past. It would be disappointing and I suppose I wouldn't buy anything until things had improved and my shopping experience was more enjoyable, but I wouldn't completely boycott it. Shopping's a little different because it's not done purely for entertainment value as is karting. As I said before, it's supposed to be fun, enjoy it, and if someone acts like a total prick then just ignore him/her next time. :)

I'm with Peter on this. Real karts on a real track. Was planning to do this soon, but was hoping to find some friends to join in. What say you F-Chatters?

    One vote for Moroso here...

Then you are condoning their behavior, nothing changes. Then you ask how other people are being treated that poorly. The biggest problem in American business is rapidly declining customer service. If you do not step up and deal with this, then it just gets worse.

I just don't see as such a big deal. It doesn't seem like anyone is really addressing the issue. Unless someone wants to email the owner a link to this thread, it's nothing more than venting about poor customer service and informing others.

Maybe someone should contact him in a NICE way with suggestions rather than expletives and wait to see if anything is done or any sort of compensation will be offered.

I echo Robert's sentiments. I frankly don't feel the bashing of Extreme is totally fair. No offense to Scottie, because he feels wronged, but there are couple of facts no one might know about. First and foremost, Extreme has been willing to talk to us and make changes.....

We noted that the karts were getting uneven, that some were much better than others. Andy went and spoke to Extreme, and they put a protocol in place to test every kart after each service to ensure that they are within a certain tolerance. Does this mean that all karts are even all the time, no. As with any form of motorsport, no matter how hard they try to make the Karts identical, ultimately all equipment is different.

Since that conversation, the variation between Karts has been better. Not perfect, but better.

The first endurance race was a cluster f**k, Andy spoke with them about the rules and Extreme modified them for the second race. While the changes made for the second race were far from perfect, a request was made on our behalf and a modification attempt was made. In fact, we conversed with Extreme as recently as this week about what could make the next endurance race better.

In my opinion, these are not the actions of a group that lacks customer service. Quite the contrary, they're the efforts of a business that does not want to fail.

I know, big friggen' deal... they talked to us.... But, I've been to many kart tracks around the country and I don't ever remember any of them discussing any changes with customers... EVER. let alone actually implementing them. I'd venture to say that this is mainly for insurance reasons.

I mean, at our request, Extreme let's us run the course backwards..... If you guys didn't notice, the track's not designed that way. Take a look at where the tire protection is placed, it's only on the columns in one direction, counter clockwise. I've made this same request at similar facilities and been shot down, for this very reason.

The fact remains that Extreme provides the best, most cost effective, consistent seat/track time of any place in Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach. If some people want to go to Moroso, great have fun, I'll even join you.... But don't complain when you drive an hour to find that a monsoon has blown thru and the track is flooded. The same goes for Opallocka, and Homestead. This is never a concern at Extreme. $20 for 20 minutes is a bargain for what you get.

Since I was there and personally effected by the "main event" with Scottie, and I understand and sympathize with him, But Scottie's issue with Extreme is just that, Scottie's issue. I, like Robert, Alex, Willy, Uffe, and Matt consistently turn out every other tuesday and have fun, because that's what's important to us. (For what it's worth, we've consistently had 10 to 20 drivers show up on the 3 tuesdays since this started.)

We'd love you guys to join us or meet us for dinner afterwards, but just as Scottie's choice is to boycott, it's ours to return to Extreme and have a good time. It was for this reason that Alex, Robert and I chose to complete the remaining 5-1/2 hours of the endurance race after Scottie got kicked out. So what we were short handed, we were 30 laps down, we got really tired, we got hurt, but we ultimately had fun. Did I mention that we got really tired? :D

Again this is no reflection on Scottie, because we all know and love him for the great guy he is. But there's definately more to this than the image that's being portrayed towards Extreme here, and I just had to put my 2 cents in.
