Sounds good to me. But I'm unavailable the first weekend in November and the GP weekend.

For the member who requested cost the cost per driver is listed in the link I provided and no date has been set simply because I wanted to judge interest first. I also wanted to get more information from MSR and I just got off the phone with Amanda at MSR and she provided me with alot more details so....

It seem's they only have about 20 karts and I was asked to make that the participant limit. Also if we want the track to ourselves for 1hr we would have to rent the track for $750 so it would be an extra $37.50 per driver if we get the 20 commitments. Amanda is going to send me an email with more details incase she forgot something today.

One issue this idea already has is that I do not own or use credit cards and a credit card " IS required to hold a date for parties of 10 or more."

She did say that arriving atleast 30mins to 1hr before our track time so we can get the required safety meeting out of the way (if we actually get 20 commitments) we can pay cash individually which would also include your portion of the track rental and get atleast 45mins of ontrack racing. If someone runs out of gas they can cart out a refuel but she suggested that a pitstop for fuel is the best may to go.

If it could go like that we could get a few warmup laps and then have two racing sessions either limited by time or number of laps. I have not been in a kart since '98 and know how physically exhausting they can be. She also mentioned that if a driver wanted to take a break he could pit and let another driver take over for him after his rest.

Anywho it is just an idea and hopefully I have shed more light on this for everyone.

An additional thought is that a date could be set for after the first of the year?

Based on the limited replies so far, you may be over planning. If there are only going to be four to six of us then we can just pick a time and all show up. And I know two or three other guys who are usually good to go for karting, but that's still a limited number. MSR runs a pretty efficient operation so just showing up to run in their normal groups is usually fine. One other thing, one hour in a kart in a row is a long time, you might actually prefer several 15 minute sessions with breaks in between.

But maybe I'm underestimating the true interest. Grady with the Ferrari club has put on a couple of these in the past and we had about 30 people show up.

I know man 15mins is tough in a kart if your not used to it. I did mention that there can be a few sessions and lord knows I would need a rest between seesion's lol. I could be as you said over planning something that is really beyond my grasp. The whole idea is just basically a meet and greet with some track time.

I know Grady and that is a good idea to pass this idea by him, the logistics are difficult to arrange but with his connections at MSR he can certainly shed some light on this idea.

    Thanks for the reminder.
