I know this should have been posted sooner but I've been on the road and not had much time

What a blast we had up in Montreal. David Noto and his crew showed up just in time to make the race and they led the way.

David came home first followed by my son Keith (who had fastest time of the race) way to go David and Keith. Marcello, David and Keith really had a battle for the entire race. It was great fun and a fantastic way to start off the Grand Prix weekend. Too bad Ferrari didn't do as well as David did on Friday night ! We have to do this again; it was great seeing Clyde, David(Notoboy), Marchello, Joe, Chris, Dave White and everyone else as well as meeting Birdman and his Buddy Pierre from Montreal.

The photo is of David just after qualifying, showing us his line and how he drove the track to win pole position. and ultimately win the race. Rematch next year !

We did have a blast. Congrats again to Dave "the flying gomba" Noto. Good to meet all the folks. Where are the group photos?

I haven't been to GPNY yet so an "apples to apples" comparison would have to be done by someone other than Dave White or me. This track was outdoors and quite long (1 minute 6 seconds was the fastest time around this circuit) so if someone knows of a fast time at GPNY that would give one dimension of comparison. There were lots of spots where passing was possible and a couple more where it wasn't but that didn't stop some of us ;-) I suspect Jimmy Scelepi, Dave White, my two sons, my brother Tommy and I would be up for a trip to GPNY or another track in the NY area if there was a group event coming up. Actually it would be really cool to do one of those enduros held up at LimeRock where you "arrive and drive" their karts.

    Ciao

    Whoops!

Here's the group shot D White was asking for. As you can see from the garages in the background, this is a serious karting track. They have a full service shop with parts, supplies, carts for sale and support services. What a blast. I'm a bit foggy on who some of the folks are and could use some help. I can confirm Clyde, David N. Keith, Tom, and Jon in the front row. I think that's Shivram, Pierre and Birdman in the second row. And starting with the second person from the left in the back row, that's Marcello, John, Chris, Dave White and me. If I have any of these wrong, please correct me.

I think the fastest lap at GPNY's downtown track (the advanced circuit) is ~ 27sec. I was running 30+. I forget what the lengths are though.

Sounds like the Super Track would be the course to drive. At 30seconds, the short track would be pretty boring and probably not many passing opportunities. Does anyone know how often they set up to run the Super track?

BTW, thanks Clyde for the additional names.

Supertrack is 1/2 a mile in length, whereas the two tracks by themselves are both 1/4 mile. The tracks really aren't that boring, if you have a good race it can be a lot of fun. The supertrack is usually put together for either league nights or when a party rents out both tracks and chooses to combine them (as NYMC does sometimes). If you want anymore info about booking a party, send me an email at [email protected]. We'd love to have you!

Thanks for letting a Boston guy in on the NY action in Montreal, I had a "wicked fun" time. <---(That's a Bostonism)

In fact, I had so much fun that a bunch of the Boston fchatters are organizing a trip next month to F1 Boston, our local Karting track. I only hope I suck less. But honestly, that karting evening was one of the highlights of the trip for me.

Dave's advice after qualifications helped me improve my lap time by over 2 seconds.

Great meeting you and Pierre; I'm glad you could make it. Next time we should plan a group dinner in the area. Yes it was "wicked fun"! My shoulders are still sore. It was great fun.
