I've done several sessions at Jim Hall Kart Racing School in Ventura. The instructors are great and are concerned with you having fun and also making you faster. You also might want to take a look at Adams Karting in Riverside, just because of where you live.

I actually looked into both those places alreaddy (the top of the search on yahoo).

Did the lessons at Jim Hall make a different in the way you drive (on a kart)?

    thanks!

The first time I drove a kart was at Jim Hall's. I can tell you it made me a smoother driver with a better understanding of braking, steering and apexing. It also helped tremendously when I went to Skip Barbers Racing School. I was able to apply all that I learned with karts towards the formula Fords we drove. I think it made me a much better driver.

Also on the more private side, you might want to call Ryan at KRC Racing. They work out of Willow Springs and have good equipment and a great attitude. Ryan's number is 818.782.4691.

I can vouch for Jim's experience in tracking cars and racing karts. He will steer you in the right direction and has the highest integrity.

By the way, this is the absolute best way to develop some solid technical driving skills that will show when you take your own cars on the track (as well as your daily driving). You will also widen your field of vision as well as look farther ahead than you did before this experience.

Absorb as much as you possibly can from your instructors and practice.

    Jim:

I think I saw a card on the floor after I let someone take the Viper out for a spin. I forgot to look at it.

    Sorry I missed you.
