Seems that my kart needs new reeds. Otherwise, not a bad day. Thanks, Rich, Chris & Peter.
Well, what a day. My Ribs hurt!!!!! Bruises on both sides, but WELL worth it. Art-Thanks for your tips on getting through some of those corners. Sucks about you kart, but at least its not major! Peter-Thank you very much for the use of the Karts. Once again, you have gone above and beyond the call of duty!! Your graciousness to share your toys is awesome. Can't wait till the next time! R
Rich was pretty fast, seems 150#s goes faster than 200#s in the same cart. I couldn't tell, the shifter was missing at the top end, so the 125 Rotexs were faster than mine. I'll get that fixed soon. Art
Rich seemed to be smoother on the track with a natural sense for the line of the course. He was faster because the 125 (that you drove) was able to be leaned out more (You drove it with a fresh engine and we ran it a bit rich. Rich was probably hitting 100MPH). I can't wait until Art gets his new 125 (Art, do you have weights?) and I'll give him a run for his money (or at least drive behind him and try to learn something!).
Damn, can I come play? Driving a shifter kart is probably one of the 2 best motorsports things I have ever done (driving an early McLaren Can-Am car is the other).
NOT in my karts you won't! Of course you are welcome (as long as you are not scared of every bone in your body aching the next morning). Can you make it to our track?
Heh...not scared of that. I have felt the sensation before! However, I live in Austin, Texas... I will let you know the next time I am in NorCal, as we have family in the Bay Area.
Dave maybe you and Art can race for slips eh? Then all the bickering in P&R will be settled once and for all. And with all the bickering gone, I will have more time to enjoy life, and less time will be needed to moderate It will finally give me a reason to come out and meet the nor cal people, even though I live right next to the bridge.
Ryan, I do not wear a slip. Don't know about Art, though. ;-) You did, of course, notice the immense drop-off of the "bickering" you mention now that the election is over, didn't you? Now, about Art's slip...if you have pictures, PLEASE do NOT post them. I would not wish that sort of humiliation even on Ol Yaller...
Ryan: All you have to do is call. We always have another seat. As for David, I just need a few days warning to make sure that his cart runs well. Art
Hey Dave, Art and I got along just fine as always, even though our differences are there! Once F-chat was brought up as we were all relaxing, I decided it would be a good time to get in the kart again!!
One of these days Art..one of these days... BTW Art..gotta email you about a 600. THinking of picking one up. yeah I know its an addiciton. Anyways, will send you the question this week. Glad to see the board has calmed down a bit. As far as slips, I was talking about pink slips=title of cars in CA How about leave Art and your ugly mugs off the boards, and post some of the MRS
I picked up a Rotax Max Tony Kart package about a week ago, spent the week getting all the other junk I need. I am going racing tomorrow at the new kart track at California Speedway! It looks like there are two more Rotax races in Nov here in SoCal, one at Adams in the Gatorz series, and the California State championships at Moran. Then, on January 8 and 9, Socalkarters have their California Roadrace Festival at the big California Speedway track, using half of the two mile oval! You simply have to check this out: http://www.socalkarters.com/images/karktrackmap.jpg How would you like to drive your karts there? It will be awesome!
