KC to Springfield Mo Sept 29th

Greetings!


For those who don't know, we are joining forces with all sports car clubs in September. We are joining our Viper friends from the Gateway St. Louis, Mid-South Arkansas, and Oklahoma clubs for a rendezvous in Springfield, Missouri on Saturday, September 29-30, 2007. We are all meeting at Premier Sports Cars of Springfield on Saturday (late morning). For those not familiar with Premier, they have been a good friend for a number of years. Premier's website is http://www.premiercars.com/. As you can see, they currently have BMWs, Ferraris, Porsches, Ford GT, Aston Martin, and Vipers in stock.

Premier has agreed to host our meeting and will have a BBQ lunch for us all. They will provide us a tour of their facility and show us their inventory of exotic cars. That afternoon we will likely take a cruise--possibly down to Branson (still working on the precise details). And, if we can arrange parking, we may plan to catch a show in Branson as a group. We plan to stay at the University Plaza Hotel in Springfield on Saturday night, and plan to have covered parking and security for the cars. On Sunday morning, we will head to Bass Pro Shop for brunch at Hemingway's restaurant, and head home Sunday afternoon.

The details are still being tweaked, but this will be lots of fun. We plan to drive down as a group--as will the other clubs from their respective locations.

For now, PLEASE post if you plan on attending. I will need a head count later.

WOW! Congratulations on your new Viper. I thought you were going to hold out for a while? It is my fault. I gave Garry’s wife a ride in my Viper last year at the Crescent Classic in Arkansas. I think she fell in love that day (with the car, not me). You will be happy with your new purchase. Keep me posted.

Cobrakid, you are more than welcome to join us. All sports cars are welcome to attend. There will be cars from all over. Hope to see you there.

Gary,

It is getting too hard to control who is going and who is not. To get a good rate, we need to reserve a "block" of rooms. As of right now, we don't know how many are going. It is all guesswork. We are going to have to reserve the rooms on our own. Since it is only one night, I am not sure how much we could save.

SPRINGFIELD MO WEEKEND

Each club can plan their own to/from cruise details. Dress code for all weekend activities is casual. This is a free no cost event. Charges apply for the hotel and dinner/show.

Saturday 11:00 am
*All clubs arrive at Premier Sports Cars. Maps and itineraries will be handed out upon arrival.
*Tour Premier facility and view their exotic car inventory.
*Lunch provided courtesy of Premier Sports Cars.

Saturday 2:00 pm
*Depart Premier Sports Cars for a special scenic cruise designed by Premier.
*Each car will have a map of cruise route.

Saturday 3:30 pm
*Arrive at University Plaza Hotel for check-in.

Mention you are with the Viper Club and get $96 rate (good for king or 2 double beds). Regular price is $134. You can also get a King Suite for $134.

SECURED PARKING will be in the public garage located across the street from the hotel. Security will be on-site to stay with our cars.

*Depart hotel parking garage to cruise to Branson, MO for dinner & show at the Dixie Stampede! This is one of the best dinner show attractions in Branson!

We have reserved a block of seats, which allows us to all sit together and receive a special discounted price! In order to do this, we must pay for all tickets with 1 check.

This price includes Pre-Show starting at 7:00pm, Dinner & Main Show starting at 8pm.
SECURED PARKING will be waiting for us in the back of theatre. We’ve hired 2 off-duty Branson Police officers to stay with our cars. Our goal is to have all cars parked by 6:30pm. NOTE: enter/exit the Dixie Stampede parking lot at an angle to ensure nose clearance.
Traffic will be heavy through the Branson area and it’s likely cars may get separated. Each car will have map of route.

*Depart Dixie Stampede to drive back to University Plaza Hotel.

 

I just wanted to give you a little update and to let you know we will be sending out an email next Wednesday with the final details as we get on top of the event.

Our good friends at Premier are ready for us to converge on their facility in full force.

* We have over 75 people that have confirmed attending all or some of the events.

* We have 50 + cars that we know of and expect that to grow as there are some coming just for the day and have not sent any notification.

*We have 60 people going to the Dixie Show.

*We have a couple Vette's, NXS, Lambo's, Ferraris and a Lotus joining us.

*Viper Magazine is coming to join us for the weekend.

*Security is all in place for all parking area's.
*We will have 3 off duty Springfield Police Officers taking shifts to be with our cars while parked in the garage at the hotel from 3pm Saturday until 9am Sunday.

*We will have 2 off duty Branson Police Officers be with the cars while we are at the Dixie show from 6pm until 10pm Saturday night.

*We will have 2 off duty Springfield Police Officers with the cars while we are in the Bass Pro Shops Hemmingways Restaurant for brunch Sunday from 9am until 2pm.

*All Security compliments of the Kansas City Viper Club.

* Premier is also having an officer on their grounds while we are at their facility on Saturday!

*We are waiting to send out final details until next Wednesday because of some const. that is either in progress or planned and Premier is going to check with MO DOT next week to see if certain ramps are going to be closed. Please don't be alarmed about driving through const. because there are plenty of routes we can take, we just want to confirm before we send out the maps and the roads be closed when we get there.

Start planning your travel time to be at Premier by 11:00 am Saturday morning. Just an added note, please have your gas tanks topped off when you get to Premier as we will be leaving from their facility to go on the scenic cruise they are planning and also heading to Branson that night.

As of today, we are planning on leaving from Gail's Harley Davidson in Belton (71 Hwy) at 7:45AM.
