KE Jetronic as fitted to my 1988 Euro-spec Testarossa has a throttle position potentiometer. Inside the fuel distributor there are two delicate multi-wire wipers that slide along the potentiometer. One of my multi-wire wipers is broken.

I’m including a photo from a fuel distributor taken off a Mercedes, with the part in question circled. Mine’s broken off.

Any suggestions? My tech and I are having a very difficult time working out a fix.

I think this thread is the only time that we had a detailed discussion about the potentiometer on the TR airflow metering flap (but never heard back from the OP about doing the functional voltage test on the possible MB replacement):

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/ke-jetronic-air-flow-meter-potentiometers.644465/#post-148001786

Is your potentiometer also Bosch 3437224031? Although the part you are looking for is part of the airflow metering unit. Maybe a dismatler or an MB airflow metering unit might use the same wiper (even if the MB potentiometer is different) -- just a thought...

It's starting to look like I'm gonna have to buy the whole thing, or find a CIS wizard who can repair it.

I can't find any evidence that anyone has ever had this problem before. I'm sure it's happened to others, but I can't find a single post on the subject of a broken wiper arm anywhere.

Try Larry at CISflowtech.com he may have or know where to get one. I honestly can't see why it would not be the same as a Benz sensor from an inline six..like the 190e 2.6 or the 300e

I’m selling my whole CIS system off my Mondial FYI. I’m installing EFI instead.

Not a bad idea really. CIS injection parts are becoming quite rare. Bosch no longer services the system except for a few minor parts. CIS flow tech is about the only place around that has the ability and knowledge to actually rebuild the fuel heads and warm-up regulators etc.

Switching it put to a more modern system would really help with not only a power increase but ease of maintenance.

Larry Fletcher as you mentioned is the man!! Spoke with him a few times on these CIS issues I’ve had. But if anyone wants my old system for parts it’s for sale.

You're hijacking/off-topic the OP's thread a bit -- your K-Jet airflow metering device does not have an airflow plate potentiometer like a KE-Jet airflow metering device.

Wasn’t trying to hijack. Thought maybe I had the part he needed. Sorry about that

Good effort. I appreciate the attempt to help me.

For now I’d like to keep the car original. If I end up owning it a very long time I’ll probably convert to EFI at some point. But for now I anticipate I will own it only a few years, and a modded engine would complicate that I think.

My Jaguar XJS V12, on the other hand, I would love to convert to EFI. That car’s worth much, much less than the Testa, and I’d love to have it running like a modern. One day, for sure…

The Xjs should already be EFI... The Xjs is a great car, however it's quite the complex machine.

You're right. Let me correct myself. I would like to convert my XJ-S to modern EFI, like this:

That is a very nice kit indeed. The engine is a gem and with modern EFI it would be fantastic. 6 to 7k rpm v12s can only be matched by Ferrari.

Yup, looks like I do need a new fuel distributor base after all, part number 123411.

Anybody got one in better shape than this?
