So last night while my girlfriend was eating a bag or blue corn tortilla chips- she finds a metal strip with a few holes punched in - and toritalla chip peices baked to it.
Didnt think much of it- but threw it in a plastic bag - and were going to send it back to the manufacturer - letting them know they might want to keep n eye on letting metal bits get into their chips. Then this morning I was making my self some tuna for lunch - and I find what appears to be a spherical bone or something in the tuna - like the size of a large marble- I put that in a bag too.
I dont plan on suing or anything like that- just wanted some feeback from the Fchat guys as to what they would do.

Just toss the stuff and move on with my life?
Sue the bejeezus out of these guys?
Try and get some free tuna and corn chips?

I find it odd that within 12 hrs these two incidents occur- when I cant remember ever finding stuff in my food ever.

    thanks guys

Before you send the items to the manufacturers, contact them and let them know what you found. They may give you some free product.

Man....maybe it's telling you to stop eating. :D

At least you caught it before consuming.

its like that movie where those kids were supposed to die in the plane crash and then they all die starnge deaths in the months to follow- maybe I missed my time.
Anyways- it is a good thing I didnt eat either the giant marble which I could have choked on or the rzor metal thing in the chips- that probably would not have felt to good going down or coming out

They usually do. We got a box (packing box) of chips when we complained once that there was too much air in a bag and not enough chips

I've seen a few bags in stores that were completely empty and just filled with air.

I assume that when you tell a company you found x in their product - they just assume you are full of **** and trying to scam some free goods
Ever since the finger in the Chili at Wendys- im sure companies are extremely skeptical of anyones claim

A lot of the microwave meals seem to have Argentinian beef in them ...
.. oh, that's not the kind of "foreign" objects you meant. ;)

When I was growing up, we used to find lots of bugs in the cereals. Not so much these days.
Maybe it's global warming? :p (Or tons of pesticides.)

The metal in the corn chips will be a big deal to the manufacturer (even if they don't tell you so). They will want that back and will probably send you some coupons for free stuff.

The "bone" in the Tuna is probably the world's largest pearl.

The metal thing is probably a part of a cutting blade... I bet they will show it to the guy who maintains the machines and he will recognize what it is instantly as a genuine piece of their equipment.

It's not a bad idea to contact them - first they will be concerned about liabilty, but also if you don't, they won't know that their process to prevent these types of instances isn't working right. So, you're doing them a favor.

If they ask about compensation, or if you want it, I think some free product is fair. Money is not fair - after all, your "loss" was only the enjoyment of a bag of chips. I imagine if you sue, you will spend many tens of thousands fighting a suit that you're going to lose.

Was the tuna bone cylindrical and possibly part of the tuna's spine? I've found a few bones in canned tuna, I'm amazed at how little considering how fast they process fish (seen on tv documentaries).

If it's a 'pearl', congrats!!! That would be worth a fortune!!! :-D

Finding the metal in the chips is extremely rare since metal detectors are built into the manufacturing process. Well, for the typical mass-market variety anyway. Maybe that part of the system was down and it affected the entire batch; might be worthwhile to contact them with a picture of the sample.

I actually know someone who found a human tooth in her burrito at a restaurant. When she told the manager they acted like she was crazy so she sued them. It wasn't for the money. She was just pissed off!

I used to work in a big superstore a during my summer holidays at school. Most people used to bring stuff back in with genuine issues but many were just trying it on. One lady had stuffed a whole fish skin in a carton of orange juice and said it was there when she opened it.
