Keep it original or Mod it?

    Just got a 1977 400 auto - very good condition and does 130 with plently to spare. But it would be a pain to get it to concours condition due to the aftermarket sunroof and push-button ignition.

    So....do I keep it as original as I can, OR mod it with some alloys. bright led bulbs, up to date sound system, etc etc? I'm thinking of the latter. Is this sacrilege? (bear in mind that I'm in Essex)

    Go with what you want fella. Your car - you'll be driving it so make it how you want it. nothing wrong with making a car unique IMO.

    If I had a carb'd V12 Ferrari engine, I don't think I'd ever put the stereo on!

    Modern alloys wouldn't go with the looks IMHO.

    Overall, I would keep it standard.

    However, you've had the cojones to actually buy such a car, and have therefore the right to do whatever you want with it.

    get it back to concours over time, enjoy the car, if it was mine i would keep it standard, but then again its yours just enjoy it

    Thanks for the views so far. I guess I don't want to turn up to a Ferrari meet and find I'm made a pariah for daring to try to improve on the original design and fittings. However, everyone seems pretty cool either way at the moment.
