broke the throttle return spring on Bambi recently and when that was fixed, I still had a problem with the accelerator not fully returning. First run happened to be to a Fiat lunch where one of the guys (old retired mechanic) took a look and realized the connections at the pedal end were gunged up and really stiff and gritty. All cleaned out and smooth as silk now makes the car feel like new - I guess it'd just slowly gunged up over the years and I didn't notice the slow deterioration... I suspect now the loot I've spent on rebuilding carbs and ignition systems probably wasn't necessary...Always go back to basics.
PS trying to double de clutch with your toes curled over the top of the accelerator is not easy!
