Just wondering what owners do to keep bug juice off their pristine exteriors? I have heard some extoll the virtues of wrapping the exterior, but it seems every car I see looks like it has never seen highway driving on a hot summer's day in the midwest or Canadian prairies where flies, beetles and other flying beetls take their toll on the front end and windshield. I find it extremely difficult to remove all the bug guts that get cooked on the hood after a few-hour trip.

I just wipe them off when I am finished with my drive. I ordered some cleaner through Griot's Garage, and it works great, I highly recommend it.

That's the key, wipe them off as soon as you're done with your drive.
Sometimes the time of day you go out affects the number of bugs out.
Believe me I know, I live in Florida.

We all find it difficult. Here's the routine.

You carefully clean your car. Then, when you drive it, it gets dirty. Next, when you get home, you clean it again. Repeat as necessary.

Making any car really clean requires a certain amount of work. Having a very good coat of wax helps a lot.

Before I wash my car I put two wet towels across the nose of the car. By the time I have everything else set up the bugs have softened.

A good coat of wax on the car and removing after each drive with proper cleaners should do it.

When I married my wife she had never really cleaned the bugs off her car. Some were embedded into the paint. Some were harder than the paint which I found out when I tried rubbing compound.

This is a picture of my car with some dried on bugs. They all came off.

Unless it's black! - Black paintwork attracts dirt like iron to a magnet!

I believe the World record for a black car remaining clean is 30 seconds! - And that was in an hermetically sealed room!

I wonder how 22ple protects against bugs
The key is wax coat protection, think teflon.
Like a condom for your car!

I always keep a bottle of quick detailer and microfiber in the boot. Also handy for bird bombs (they seem kind enough to wait for me to finish washing the car before dropping their load)
