Oui, allez Monsieur Hopeskins!
I'm in sunny Scotland (really it is) at the moment for the big party tonight. Weather forecast for South East looks like its pretty poor at the moment. Hopefully the weather will cahnge for next Saturday. When I get home tomorrow I will post further deatils on a suggested meeting points and PM my address to those who will meet me at home. Ken
Sorry, got back later than planned due to defect on the plane from Glasgow so will need to suggest a plan later than anticipated. Watch this space. Stig, you normally have a handle on the longer range weathre forecast. Any views on Saturday yet? Ken
Just a word of warning. I arranged a Ferrari day for a good friends visiting Italian 68 yr old Father . He came to aFerrari owners club track day. He literally nearly had an heart attack. He got aride in a F40 on the grand prix circuit. Sounds like a good treat. TWOtooMANY
Joe, Hope you're having a great holiday. Having turned 40 his heart is probably not quite what it was, particularly as I stayed with him for a couple of days at the weekend and increased his alcohol intake multiple times more than used to! I'm sure he will still be up to it. It is Saturday we are due to meet, not Sunday as stated. hope that doesn't cause you any problem. Ken
Right, time to try to agree a schedule for Saturday. As I see it we have 7 yeses and a maybe if the wife lets me off my chores (come on Stig, stand up for yourself). Unfortunately my neighbour Paul's 360 spider is at Graypaul so his car is not available. He may, if offered, accept a lift if someone is happy to provide one. Paul is also going to give me the phone numbers of another couple of neighbours with Fcars. I will see whether they want to join us. Maranello in Sevenoaks has kindly invited us to join then for coffee and also made a very kind offer to take my mate Cris (not Chris, it stands for Cristoforo, an Italian name) out in a couple of cars he may not otherwise get the chance to ride in. I am awaiting for them to confirm a time to suit but have suggested 12.30/ 1ish. Can I suggest that anyone who would like to meet at my house in Locksbottom lets me know and I will PM them my postcode. I am very close to at least Mal and Graham, but the more involved at the start the better. Others can join in at any time later and those who wish to drop out before the end are obviuosly free to do so. So how about: 10.30 My house 11.15ish The Woodman, Ide Hill www.thewoodman-idehill.co.uk 12.45ish Maranello, Sevenoaks 2.30ish Kent High Performance Cars Darren, as you know the KHPC boys do you want to let them know there will be a visit? Let me know how this sounds and feel free to make suggestions. I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks for making this a memorable day for Cris. I'm sure it will also be memorable for me.
Although the next couple of days looks a bit bleak on the weather front, saturday is not looking too bad at all. If there is any rain it is only expected to be the odd shower. Fingers crossed. Ken
I've just run the suggested route through AA Route Planner. My house (P/C a.o.r) to Woodman (TN14 6JA), 14.47 miles, 23 mins. Woodman to MSL (TN13 3PE), 4.28 miles, 8 mins MSL to KHPC (ME15 9YY), 21.95 miles, 35 mins. Total 40.7 miles, 1 h 6 mins. Ken
I'll see u guys at the Woodman pub at 11:15ish. I'll try to get there and blag a carparking spot for everyone... for seven cars - I'll park sideways - and place other random articles around the place Ade
I forgot about posting that... thanks for reminding me, I need to wash that down. It was only bile really anyway.
Ade, The pub has a good size car park. Hopefully there will be plenty of room for all. See you Saturday. Ken
