Does anyone that has done the Kentucky Bourbon Trail have advise on what to see/do? Some friends and I are flying up to check it out and we'd like some tips from people who have already experienced it...

I haven't, but I've spent a fair amount of time in the area. A couple of recommended stops:

Woodford Reserve: only bourbon distillery I visited, but had a great time.

If you're going in October, be sure to hit the Keeneland for the fall racing meet. Their slogan is "Racing As It Ought To Be," and they're right (I say this and I live two blocks from Saratoga Race Course.)

Tour one of the great thoroughbred farms: Lane's End, Three Chimney, Claiborne et al.

    You'll enjoy the area.

We're going for Sep 13-16th. Plan on doing the Kentucky Bourbon Festival tour that visits 6 distilleries (Woodford Reserve, Jim Beam, Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill, Makers Mark, Four Roses). Hoping to find some other cool stuff to pack into the trip too.

The Keeneland September Yearling sale will be going on while you're there. If you're into expensive young horseflesh, check it out.
