    Opened the key fob to see what kind of battery is used.I noticed a small tube in the case . What is this for? Mike

    It holds the batteries together and makes it easier to install them. Batteries are CR1220 or DL1220 x 2

    I am not trying to be difficult but I am talking about the little compartment in the the fob ,left of the key and at the angle of the fob.Mine has a small tube in it.Thanks for your patience.Mike

    It is the security portion. The RFID component which makes each key uniquely coded and which must be programmed up to your car for it to run.
