Out of the blue, neither of the two key fobs on my 2017 488 will lock or unlock doors. Both work fine starting the car.

I am ruling out battery issue since both sets are fairly new.

I would first change the fob battery because it needs less battery power to start car than to lock/unlock doors. If that doesn't work, maybe someone did the restart procedure improperly after changing the battery. So, in that case, you would have to remove the negative off of the battery for 10 minutes and do the proper restart procedure.
If the fob used to work, then just stopped for no reason, I'm pretty sure the fob battery replacement will fix the problem. The batteries in those don't last too long.

Mine do it all the time. Pop the battery out and put it back in.

I will give these a try. The weird part about the batteries being bad would be how they both became bad at the exact same time and both key fobs.

Just need new batteries. what was weird and threw me off. Was both fobs went exactly at the same time. Plus, if you read the owners manual, it does claim that they will let you know with a message light in the car when your key fob is getting low. That didn’t happen.
